Business and first-class travel across The Pond is about to level up.

It’s called Allegris, it’s Lufthansa’s newest cabin concept, and it will be flying soon from Munich (MUC) to 3 more cities across the U.S.

“I am delighted that we are offering our guests Lufthansa Allegris on more and more routes,” said Heiko Reitz, chief customer officer at Lufthansa Airlines.

Here’s the latest on Allegris’ rollout and how to book it for yourself.

Lufthansa Allegris Coming to More U.S. Routes

Starting with San Diego (SAN) on March 30, Lufthansa’s Allegris will begin its rollout to more U.S. destinations.

From mid-April, Newark (EWR) will welcome Allegris with Charlotte (CLT) being added to the list at the beginning of August.

The Allegris cabins are unique to just 9 of Lufthansa‘s Airbus A350-900s, which are already flying to Chicago (ORD) and San Francisco (SFO).

Each of the jets features all-new seats for economy, premium economy, and business class, but only 6 of the aircraft feature the jaw-dropping Allegris first-class cabins. As such, Newark won’t yet welcome the jets with the Allegris first class.

How To Book Lufthansa’s Allegris Business and First Class

Tickets for a flight in Lufthansa’s Allegris — from economy through to first class — can be booked with either cash or points.

When it comes to using points, the frequent flyer programs we recommend using are Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, Lufthansa’s own Miles & More, and finally, United MileagePlus.

Hot Tip:

Check out our full guide for everything you need to know about booking Lufthansa flights with points.

Whether you book with cash or points, Lufthansa will add a surcharge to sit in the most premium seats in each cabin.

In economy, you’ll expect to pay 50 ($52) for an extra legroom seat, which isn’t all too bad.

Prices for selecting a seat with extra comfort in Allegris business class range from 100€ ($103) for a Privacy Seat or an Extra Long Bed to 130€ ($134) for an Extra Space Seat.

To reserve the best seat in the Allegris business class cabin — the Business Class Suite — you’ll pay an additional 400 ($413).

You also can skip seat selection, in which case you could be allocated a seat with additional comfort for free.

And for those wishing for the most exclusive of Lufthansa’s seats, the Suite Plus in Luftansa’s Allegris first class cabins will set you back an additional 1,900 ($1,965) for use by a a single passenger.

To book the Suite Plus for a couple, you’ll need to call the First Class Hotel to find out rates.

Hot Tip:

So far, Lufthansa hasn’t released awards or upgrade space into its new Allegris First, meaning you can’t redeem miles for it yet. The airline’s top elites reportedly have been told they can’t even put their names on a waitlist for upgrades to the new cabins. Until that changes, you’ll need to pay cash to fly in Lufthansa’s new first class.

Final Thoughts

If you have plans for travel between Europe and the U.S. in 2025, then you might want to consider booking a seat on one of Lufthansa’s new Allegris-equipped Airbus A350-900s.

There’s availability already from Chicago and San Francisco, and now Charlotte, Newark, and San Diego will be joining soon, meaning there are options from across the U.S.
