Hotel lounges aren’t as popular as they used to be in the U.S. — but they still exist. You’ll find executive lounges at select hotels that belong to brands like JW Marriott, Marriott, and Sheraton. That said, it’s historically been hard to find properties that still have these lounges without digging into each hotel’s website.

But that just changed. Marriott just added a new search feature to its website that lets travelers filter hotel searches to only show hotels with open executive lounges. For reference, travelers booked in club-level rooms or those with Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite, and Ambassador Elite status can access lounges during their stay.

Let’s take a closer look at how to use this new Marriott search feature to find hotels with lounges.

How To Use Marriott’s New Lounge Search Feature

Using Marriott’s new lounge search feature is simple. To start, head to Marriott’s website and search for a hotel in a city of your choice. For this example, I’ll look for a 2-night stay in New York City this December.

Once you’re on the search results page, click the “All Filters” button at the top of the page.

Now, scroll down until you see the “Amenities” section and check the box next to the “Elite Member Lounge” option. Then, click the “Apply” button to apply the filter to your search results.

The search results page will now only show hotels with open lounges. That said, this search feature will not tell you if you’re actually eligible for lounge access. If you’re interested in accessing the lounge, make sure that you book an eligible room rate or can access it with your eligible Marriott Bonvoy elite status tier (Platinum Elite or higher).

Likewise, you should still reach out to the hotel to verify when the lounge is open during the week. Some hotels keep their lounges open 24/7, but others may restrict hours or only open the lounge on weekdays.

If you don’t have Marriott elite status, you can quickly earn Platinum Elite status with specific Marriott co-branded credit cards. Check out our full guide to earning Marriott Platinum Elite status for tips on how to do so.

Final Thoughts

Marriott’s new lounge search feature made finding hotels with executive lounges much easier. If you have lounge access with your Marriott Bonvoy elite status, it might be worth using it to find a hotel with a lounge before your next trip. Hotel lounges often have happy hours, free snacks and drinks, and other perks that can help reduce your trip’s dining expenses.
