Travelers passing through Miami now have a new way to recharge between flights. Miami International Airport (MIA) has introduced private “Wait n’ Rest” sleep rooms inside Concourse D, giving passengers a place to nap, shower, or simply relax without leaving the terminal.

The new rooms can be booked by the hour and are designed for everything from quick layover naps to longer overnight rest stops during delays or extended connections.

Here’s what travelers can expect from the airport’s new sleep rooms.

Miami Airport Debuts Sleep Rooms Inside the Terminal

Miami International Airport (MIA) has officially opened 15 private sleep rooms in Concourse D. This makes Miami the second city to host the Wait n’ Rest concept, with Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) scheduled to become the third location soon.

While Miami International Airport already has an on-site hotel — the Miami International Airport Hotel located inside the terminal — it’s often overlooked and isn’t particularly useful for travelers who simply want to rest for a few hours between flights.

That’s where the new “Wait n’ Rest” rooms come in. Designed specifically for layovers and delays, the rooms can be booked by the hour, giving travelers a private place to nap, shower, or relax without committing to a full overnight hotel stay.

Each room can accommodate up to 4 guests and can be reserved for stays of up to 8 hours. Travelers can choose between rooms with 1 or 2 beds, and each space includes sleep essentials, an in-room television, and access to private showers.

Rates start at $40 per hour for a single guest, with pricing increasing based on occupancy. Travelers who need more time can book an overnight package of up to 8 hours, starting at $200.

Airport officials say the rooms are meant to provide a more flexible alternative to leaving the airport for a hotel stay, especially during long layovers or unexpected delays.

And more rooms are already on the way. A second set of Wait n’ Rest sleep rooms is scheduled to open later this year in Concourse H.

Hot Tip:

Miami is a major hub for overnight departures to South America and Europe. If you’re arriving early for a late-night flight — or facing a long delay — these sleep rooms could be a much more comfortable option than trying to rest in a crowded gate area or airport lounge.

Final Thoughts

Airports are constantly looking for ways to make long travel days a little more comfortable, and Miami’s new sleep rooms are a welcome addition for travelers passing through one of the busiest gateways to Latin America.

Having a private place inside the terminal to nap, shower, or simply reset before the next flight is the kind of upgrade that can make the airport experience more enjoyable.
