A decade ago, Marriott launched its playful lifestyle brand called Moxy. Now, the upper midscale brand has over 135 properties in more than 25 countries. Dubai will join that list in 2025.

The opening of the Moxy Al Barsha Dubai will come from the conversion of an existing hotel. Here’s what you should know about this refurbishing and rebranding work in the United Arab Emirates’ most populous city.

Moxy Al Barsha Dubai Opening in 2025

Among the various Marriott hotel brands, Moxy sits in the select tier with a midtier price point. Marriott consistently describes this brand as fun and playful, focused on having drinks with friends and ignoring typical elements of most hotels.

Moxy will launch its first property in Dubai’s Al Barsha neighborhood in 2025 by updating and reflagging an existing property.

“The Moxy Al Barsha Dubai will serve as a playful lifestyle hotel bringing a spirited experience to Dubai’s vibrant hospitality landscape,” said Chadi Hauch, Marriott International’s regional vice president of lodging development for the Middle East. “Dubai remains an important growth market for the company and we continue to see a strong demand for hospitality experiences in the market that are as stylish as they are affordable.”

The Moxy Al Barsha Dubai will have 480 guestrooms and will be geared to those who are young in age or still young at heart. Key features will include communal tables and convenient access to local attractions.

Dubai’s Al Barsha neighborhood is conveniently located near the Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Al Arab. The Mashreq Metro Station in Al Barsha provides seamless access to other points in the city — or even out to the Dubai International Airport (DXB).

The Moxy Al Barsha Dubai project is the third partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Al Ali Property Investments (API).

Hot Tip:

The Moxy Al Barsha Dubai is currently unavailable on Marriott’s website for reservations. That means we don’t know what prices will be when paying cash or redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points. However, it should be in the middle price range for other hotels in the area.

Final Thoughts

Marriott and API are converting an existing hotel to become the first Moxy brand in the Middle East. The Moxy Al Barsha Dubai is planned to open in early 2025. Reservations aren’t open yet, but we’ll provide updates — along with price points — when they are.
