Low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways is adding a new route (and resuming a former one) from its Los Angeles (LAX) gateway.

Here’s what you need to know!

Norse Atlantic Adds LAX-Rome; Resumes Oslo

Norse Atlantic announced on October 21, 2024, that it will offer nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Rome (FCO) next year. Flights will be 3 times weekly, beginning May 22, 2025.

Additionally, the airline will restart flights between Los Angeles and Oslo (OSL), albeit on a summer seasonal schedule. Service resumes on May 23, 2025, and continues through September 26, 2025. Norse says flights will operate “up to” 3 times per week.

Norse will fly its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the routes, offering standard economy and premium economy seats.

“We are proud to introduce this exciting new route connecting Los Angeles and Rome, two of the world’s most dynamic cities,” said CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen. “Our passengers will have the opportunity to explore the deep history of Rome, all while enjoying our affordable and comfortable flights.”

Bottom Line:

Both routes are particularly intriguing. Norse will offer the second nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Rome, a route currently dominated by ITA. And there are no nonstop flights to Oslo at all, giving Norse an opportunity to dominate the market.

How To Book Norse’s New European Flights

These routes won’t launch until next May, but you can book your flights now. The cheapest flights we see to both cities start at around $300 one-way (in economy) for dates next August.

Premium Economy will cost you more, but it may be worth upgrading, especially on such a long flight. Norse’s Premium Economy is akin to a domestic first class flight. The airline offers a 43-inch pitch, and passengers receive an amenity kit, free meals, and drinks.

Prices are so low because Norse is a low-cost carrier. In other words, the airline saves costs by passing on ancillary purchases, such as seat selection and baggage, to the customer. These services are cheaper the earlier you book them and get more expensive the closer you are to departure.

Hot Tip:

Once you’ve settled on travel dates, you’ll want to book your flight with a credit card to maximize flight purchases. A few of our favorites, like The Platinum Card® from American Express and Chase Sapphire Reserve®, offer benefits such as lounge access and travel credits.

Final Thoughts

Norse is boosting flights to Europe from Los Angeles by adding service to Rome and restarting Oslo service. While flights aren’t available until next May, the cheap flights should be encouragement enough to book a trip to either city. Just make sure you pay with a travel credit card to earn plenty of points for your purchase!
