The Destination by Hyatt brand made its debut in Latin America with the opening of The Legend Paracas Resort in Peru.

This new luxury, family-friendly resort overlooks Paracas Bay on Peru’s coast. It’s the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Latin America and only the second Hyatt hotel in Peru (although there are multiple Mr. and Mrs. Smith properties bookable through Hyatt in Peru).

This is great news for Hyatt fans and another example of how Hyatt has been expanding its footprint over the last couple of years. Let’s explore the details of this new luxury resort in Peru.

The Legend Paracas Resort

The Legend Paracas Resort is a Destination by Hyatt property located on Peru’s coast next to Paracas National Park, about 3 hours south of Lima.

This was a previously existing hotel that underwent renovations (including a new lobby, covered parking with EV charging, and a new restaurant) before joining the World of Hyatt program.

The resort’s 124 suites each have a separate bedroom and living area with a sofa bed, TV, and desk. Each room also has a kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and minibar. Rooms on the bottom floor have a private terrace, while second-floor rooms have a private balcony. The interiors of the rooms were inspired by the natural beauty of Paracas National Reserve, using wood tones and natural materials.

The resort has 3 dining concepts. Azul is the resort’s signature restaurant, serving both Peruvian and international dishes. Rey de Las Olas Bar & Lounge is a casual beach restaurant, and the Pool Side Bar serves unique cocktails along with light bites. There’s also 24-hour room service.

Coffee lovers will want to sample Café Zokya, a signature blend of Peruvian coffee that incorporates beans from 3 distinct areas: Quillabamba (Cusco), Pozuzo (Pasco), and Rodriguez de Mendoza (Amazonas). This signature coffee is served throughout the resort.

The resort features a pool overlooking the ocean, a separate kids pool, a fitness center, a spa, and lots of activities, including kitesurfing, wakeboarding, kayaking, paddleboarding, sandboarding, buggy excursions, and kid-friendly programs.

How To Book The Legend Paracas Resort

The Legend Paracas Resort is a Category 3 World of Hyatt hotel that costs just 9,000 (off-peak), 12,000 (standard), or 15,000 (peak) points per night.

If you want to earn more Hyatt points, you can do so by opening and spending on Hyatt credit cards or by transferring points at a 1:1 ratio from Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards.

Hot Tip:

Beginning July 1, 2024, guests can earn an additional 500 bonus Hyatt points when staying at The Legend Paracas Resort as part of Hyatt’s new hotel bonus program.

Final Thoughts

The Legend Paracas Resort, a new Hyatt hotel in Peru, is now open. As part of the Destination by Hyatt brand, it can be booked using World of Hyatt points. This family-friendly resort gives Hyatt customers another great option in South America.
