Here is some big news from World of Hyatt this afternoon: The Legend Paracas Resort in Peru will soon be bookable with Hyatt points.

Here’s everything you need to know about the resort!

Destination by Hyatt Brand Debut in Peru

The Legend Paracas Resort in Paracas, Peru, will join the World of Hyatt program in June.

The 124-room resort is comprised of all suites, each with private balconies or terraces and either ocean, garden or pool views.

The hotel plans to update and enhance the property over the next 2 years, including the guest rooms, dining options, and public areas. Amenities will include a fitness center, a pool with a swim-up bar, a separate pool for kids, and an on-site restaurant.

Hyatt has not listed an award category for the hotel, so we don’t know how many World of Hyatt points will be required for a stay.

Paracas is a beach town on Peru’s west coast. The closest airport to Paracas is Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), roughly 3 hours away.

The Legend Paracas Resort will mark the debut of the Destination by Hyatt brand in Peru. The hotel is located between the Paracas Natural Reserve and the Pacific Ocean.

“It’s a true pleasure to collaborate with El Pardo Hospitality on this exciting project and expand Hyatt’s brand presence in a new market in South America,” said Cristiano Gonçalves, vice president of development South America at Hyatt. “Our plan to thoughtfully grow our brands in South America continues, and we look forward to introducing guests and World of Hyatt members to new cultural experiences in one-of-a-kind destinations.”

Booking Hyatt Hotels in Peru

Hyatt has a small footprint in Peru, with just 1 hotel currently open: Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima.

But if you plan to visit Peru, the Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima is an excellent option for redeeming World of Hyatt points. As a Category 2 property in the capital city of Lima, this hotel is an absolute steal for World of Hyatt members. Rates start at just 6,500 points per night, and luckily, there’s a ton of availability for dates this summer and fall.

You’ll also find cash rates starting at $225 per night this fall. However, given how cheap the hotel is with Hyatt points, you’re better off saving your cash.

Hot Tip:

World of Hyatt points aren’t the easiest to earn. However, the program is a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards at a 1:1 ratio. You can also earn Hyatt points through welcome bonus offers and spending on one of the few World of Hyatt co-branded credit cards.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt is expanding its presence in Peru in a big way, with a new Destination by Hyatt resort coming under its umbrella. While we don’t yet know much about the resort, we hope this means Hyatt will continue to grow in Peru and other South American destinations!
