An entirely new type of airport lounge is coming to Minneapolis. The team behind Gameway, the gaming-focused lounges at several airports nationwide, will introduce a new concept — Portal Lounge — at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) tomorrow, May 28, 2026.

The new Portal Lounge will build on the gaming-centric vibes of Gameway spaces already found at several U.S. airports by infusing additional hospitality elements, such as food and drinks, a sophisticated social atmosphere, robust technology, and more.

“We wanted to create a space where people could genuinely enjoy spending time, whether that means sharing cocktails before a flight, playing with friends, discovering something unexpected, or simply feeling transported for a few hours,” said Emma Walbridge, co-founder of Portal Lounge.

Here’s a look at all the exciting details!

Portal Lounge Opens at MSP Tomorrow

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is set to welcome a completely new lounge experience tomorrow. Created by the same team behind Gameway lounges, which are already found in 9 U.S. airports, Portal Lounge is set to raise the bar even further by combining the gaming focus that’s made Gameway popular with a great dining program, a space designed for socializing, music, tech, and more.

The Portal Lounge at MSP will offer about 3,800 square feet of space and capacity for around 114 guests. It features “an environment layered with cinematic lighting, art deco-inspired interiors, curated music programming, custom furnishings, social seating areas, and 600 square feet dedicated to gaming,” according to a press release.

Of course, Portal Lounge delivers on the gaming front, with 17 stations featuring numerous platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PCs, providing access to almost 30 games with casual, multiplayer, streaming, and competitive gameplay.

Portal Lounge isn’t just about gaming, though. It introduces a novel concept: “the first robotic bartender of its kind inside a U.S. airport lounge.” It’s the centerpiece of the dining area and serves guests all kinds of specialty cocktails and mocktails.

It strives to offer a food-and-beverage program that feels different than that of a typical airport lounge, with small plates designed by chefs and drinks inspired by the local area, such as the “Lag Free,” a Minnesota-themed margarita, or “Prince’s Lemonade,” a mocktail drawing inspiration from music legend and Minnesota native Prince.

Portal Lounge will be open daily from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will participate in the Priority Pass program. Considering a Priority Pass membership comes as a perk of numerous high-end travel rewards cards, it should be fairly easy to gain access to the new lounge.

Hot Tip:

If you want to visit Portal Lounge but can’t access it via Priority Pass or another participating credit card program, you can pay $70 for a single-visit pass.

Final Thoughts

Portal Lounge is a fresh take on an airport lounge. It combines the tried-and-true gaming-centric model that Gameway brought to the market with hospitality-focused elements that should give guests the best of both worlds.

If you’re passing through MSP any time soon and can access Portal Lounge, don’t forget to check it out!
