There’s a new airline in town at Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).

Canadian carrier Porter Airlines has launched a daily nonstop service from Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) to the northernmost county of South Florida.

“The new service will strengthen our connection to one of North America’s most vibrant cities, enhancing travel convenience and options for our passengers,” said Laura Beebe, director of airports for Palm Beach County.

Porter Expands Florida Route Network With New West Palm Beach Service

After Porter‘s inaugural West Palm Beach service touched down for the first time on November 14, the carrier will operate with a varied schedule until December 12, when the service becomes daily.

Daily frequencies will continue throughout the winter season until April with the following schedule:

Depart Toronto (YYZ) 2:25 p.m. — Arrive West Palm Beach (PBI) 5:35 p.m.
Depart West Palm Beach (PBI) 6:35 p.m. — Arrive Toronto (YYZ) 9:50 p.m.

The route has been introduced primarily for Canadians looking to escape the harsh winter that chills the nation for most of the season.

“Passengers appreciate having more options when planning their winter getaways and the elevated onboard experience means their vacation begins the moment they step onboard,” said Kevin Jackson, president at Porter Airlines.

That said, some Floridians might also be tempted to hop on a Porter flight to Toronto to sample some cold weather.

Porter operates its fleet of Embraer E195-E2 on this, the airline’s 7th route to Florida, which has 132 seats in a cozy yet comfortable 2-2 configuration.

For extra legroom and to indulge in complimentary in-flight meal with premium alcohol, Porter offers the option of booking a more expensive PorterReserve seat — the airline’s business class equivalent.

The cheapest round-trip economy fares are in January and start at $225. Air Canada, which also operates the route, might be the preferred option for those with Air Canada, United, or any Star Alliance airline status.

Porter is ramping up its cross-border connectivity, even offering transcontinental routes between Montréal and California which started this summer.
