Porter Expands Internationally With 5 New Destinations

Porter Airlines is betting big on winter sun destinations.

The Canadian regional airline is expanding its footprint outside of Canada and the U.S. for the first time with new routes to Cancun (CUN), Grand Cayman (GCM), Liberia in Costa Rica (LIR), Nassau in the Bahamas (NAS), and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PVR).

“This is a significant development for anyone who wants to fly with Porter to more places and experience our award-winning service that focuses on making flying enjoyable for economy travellers,” said Kevin Jackson, president at Porter Airlines.

Here are the details of this huge milestone for the airline.

Porter Airlines’ New Routes Outside of Canada and the U.S.

On November 5, Porter will open up a whole new world of travel opportunities with its first new international flight from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Cancun (CUN).

Throughout November and December, Porter will add a further 12 new international routes to sunshine destinations from Hamilton (YHM), Ottawa (YOW), and Toronto Pearson.

As the airline’s main hub city, Porter will serve each of its 5 new destinations from Toronto.

Ottawa — Canada‘s capital city — will also get new service with Porter to each of its 5 new destinations. When the routes start, Porter will be the only airline to connect Ottawa with Grand Cayman and Liberia.

The third city to welcome Porter’s new international routes is Hamilton on the East Coast. Of the 3 new routes to Cancun, Nassau, and Puerto Vallarta, the latter 2 will be operated only by Porter once they start up in December.

All of Porter’s new routes will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Embraer aircraft. Tickets can be booked now via the airline’s website.
