American Airlines just announced that it will open a new kind of Admirals Club experience in New York (JFK), but it won’t be a typical lounge.

Provisions by Admirals Club is a 3,700-square-foot grab-and-go concept that will offer passengers premium food and beverage options without committing to a full sit-down lounge visit.

With a barista bar and dedicated staff to help with travel needs, this will be a welcome addition to Terminal 8. Let’s take a look at the details.

Provisions by Admirals Club at JFK: What It Is and What To Expect

American Airlines just announced that its second-ever Provisions by Admirals Club will open later this year, located in Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Concourse B between gates 12 and 14.

This location is notable because Concourse B currently houses only the Greenwich Lounge, Soho Lounge, and Chelsea Lounge. If you don’t have elite status or aren’t flying on an eligible ticket, you’ll need to trek underground to Concourse C to find the Admirals Club.

“JFK is a busy hub where our customers make a lot of connections, and this space allows us to better match the pace of our customers’ journeys” Heather Garboden, chief customer officer

The 3,700-square-foot space will prioritize flow, flexibility, and speed, so passengers can stop by without worrying about missing their flight. Provisions by Admirals Club is designed to complement AA’s existing lounges, not replace them.

The centerpiece is American’s first dedicated barista bar, serving made-to-order Lavazza hot and cold coffee drinks. There will also be a self-service station for food and drinks with pastries and fruit in the morning, and grab-and-go options throughout the day.

Additionally, there will be an American Airlines representative available for any travel assistance.

Who Gets Access to Provisions by Admirals Club?

Access to Provisions by Admirals Club follows the standard Admirals Club admission rules.

Admirals Club members and those holding a Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard® will have access, as well as passengers on eligible first- or business-class international flights. Additionally, Oneworld elite members on select itineraries can also enter.

For those holding the Citi/AAdvantage Executive card, your card just got a little bit more valuable — especially if you travel through New York.

Day passes can also be used to access the lounge, such as those available from the Citi® / AAdvantage® Globe™ Mastercard® and Citi Strata Elite℠ Card.

Hot Tip:

American Airlines hasn’t confirmed an opening date for this Provisions by Admirals Club location, but we expect it to open by the end of 2026.

Final Thoughts

American Airlines continues to expand and experiment with its lounge offerings, with the latest being a 3,700-square-foot grab-and-go concept, Provisions by Admirals Club, in New York City.

This is a welcome addition to the lounge landscape in Terminal 8, as many passengers don’t have access to current options in Concourse B. And for those with tight connections, trekking over to Concourse C just isn’t worth it.

With barista-made Lavazza coffee and snacks available throughout the day, this should be a great spot to swing by on your next flight out of JFK.
