Cardholders of The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card can breathe a sigh of relief: Chase has confirmed that the card’s valuable travel and purchase protections are not being reduced.

Conflicting information briefly appeared on the card’s benefits webpage, but Chase says that page was incorrect and is being updated to match the card’s official Guide to Benefits.

Here’s what you need to know.

Ritz-Carlton Card Benefits Page Displayed Incorrect Information

The confusion started when the benefits page for the Ritz-Carlton card began showing weaker protections than those listed in the card’s official Guide to Benefits, dated June 11, 2026.

The biggest difference involved trip delay reimbursement. The website said coverage would kick in after a delay of more than 12 hours or an overnight stay, while the official guide says it starts after more than 6 hours or an overnight stay. The benefit reimburses up to $500 per covered traveler.

That wasn’t the only mismatch. The website left out trip cancellation and interruption insurance, which covers up to $10,000 per traveler and $20,000 per trip, as well as up to $100,000 in emergency evacuation and transportation coverage.

Purchase protection was also listed at just $500 per item, compared with up to $10,000 per item and $50,000 per calendar year in the benefits guide. Certain details about travel accident insurance and emergency medical and dental coverage were also missing.

Naturally, this led cardholders to wonder whether Chase had quietly scaled back some of the card’s best protections. Thankfully, that’s not what happened.

Chase confirmed to Upgraded Points that the information on the website was incorrect and that the card’s protections have not changed.

The webpage is now being updated to match the Guide to Benefits, and some of those corrections are already showing up.

Hot Tip:

The Ritz-Carlton card is no longer available to new applicants, but eligible holders of certain Chase Marriott Bonvoy credit cards may be able to product change to it. Call the number on the back of your card to ask whether an upgrade is available.

Final Thoughts

This turned out to be a website mistake, not a devaluation. That is welcome news for Ritz-Carlton cardholders, especially since its strong travel protections are a big reason the card remains so valuable despite being closed to new applicants.

The official Guide to Benefits remains the most reliable source for the card’s current coverage. Still, it’s reassuring that Chase caught the problem and is correcting the webpage before the incorrect information causes even more confusion.
