Roame.Travel Now Supports Cathay Pacific’s Loyalty Program for Award Searches

Using award search tools to help you use points and miles just got easier, as Roame.Travel now supports Cathay Pacific.

Cathay Pacific’s Cathay program (formerly known as “Asia Miles”) offers some excellent redemption options, and Roame is now the only program to offer free live searches in Cathay’s award program, in addition to other features such as alerts and Skyview.

What Is Roame.Travel?

Roame.travel (or simply “Roame”) offers multiple tools to help travelers redeem their points and miles on award flights. These include live search results on its free plan — not just cached results or indications of what other members have found recently.

Roame also offers Skyview, letting you see award availability across up to 60 days, for flights up to 365 days away, and comparing results from multiple airports at once. However, note that the free plan only provides access to 7 days of availability in Skyview — and only for flights departing within 60 days.

Now, Roame searches results from Cathay Pacific’s Cathay loyalty program, which is great news for those with transferable points who want to fly in Cathay Pacific’s fantastic first class.

Cathay searches are still in beta mode, but a spokesperson for Roame confirmed that “all major U.S. routes are covered.”

Searches can access award availability for direct flights on Cathay Pacific, 1-stop routes covering major U.S. destinations and “some other popular routes,” and partner award bookings. However, according to the same spokesperson, this is currently limited mostly to Japan Airlines (JAL) flights.

Presently, the only other award search tool supporting Cathay Pacific is Point.me. With Point.me’s free “Basic” plan, members can only receive tips emails and use the Explore tool to see what flights other members have found recently. That makes Roame’s ability to actually search Cathay awards on a free plan unique.

Understanding Cathay Pacific’s Program

Previously called Asia Miles, the Cathay program has several positives. These include the ability to transfer points from multiple programs: Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Brex Rewards, Capital One miles, Citi ThankYou Points, and Marriott Bonvoy.

Additionally, Cathay provides more access to its premium cabins when you use Cathay miles rather than booking awards through partner programs. That makes Cathay miles the best way to book Cathay Pacific first class and business class.
