One of our favorite tools for searching flights using points and miles got better. Seats.aero has started rolling out seat maps and a fare class viewer for Pro users.

Both new features are still in beta but are already proving to be valuable, with even more features to come.

Let’s take a look at these updates and how you can use them to make booking award flights easier.

Seat Map Viewer

With so many different aircraft and seat configurations across airlines, trying to pick the best seats on your flight can be challenging. Especially if you’re not familiar with the airline.

Seat Map Viewer (beta) is now available for Pro users on Seats.aero.

Seats.aero is free for all users; however, the Pro version ($9.99/month) unlocks up to a year of availability on all routes, advanced filters, SMS alerts, and more.

This new feature can also be handy when you are debating between which flights to take. Now, you can easily see which seats are available across all cabins, giving you a better idea of which will be the better option for you and your party when selecting your seats or vying for an upgrade.

The Seat Map Viewer allows users to view seat maps of any scheduled flight from global distribution systems (GDS). Simply enter the departure and arrival airport, date, airline, and flight number, and your flight will display.

Note: Not all airlines are currently supported.

Other tools, like aeroLOPA, show up-to-date detailed seat maps but don’t show availability. Old favorites, like Expert Flyer and SeatGuru, have been good in the past but seem to have lost popularity as of late.

Even in beta, this feature’s addition to one of our favorite tools is great news for Pro users.

Fare Class Viewer

Fare Class Viewer is the other new feature on Seats.aero.

Now, users can enter their flight information and easily see which fare classes are available.

This is useful for multiple reasons, the most important of which is that you will be able to see potential mileage accrual if there is any upgrade availability.

If that is confusing, be sure to read our comprehensive guide on airline booking codes!

Seats.aero (already one of our favorite points and miles tools) just got more valuable.

Pro users can now access the beta version of the new Seat Map Viewer and Fare Class Viewer, making searching for the perfect flight even easier.
