The esteemed Six Senses brand revealed plans for a new resort in Spain, situated in Avila, a UNESCO-listed city merely 50 minutes from Madrid.

Let’s get straight to the news!

Six Senses Quexigal Palace Coming in 2026

The luxurious Six Senses brand, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is expanding its portfolio once more, this time in mainland Spain, just outside of Madrid, the nation’s capital.

Designed within a stunning 16th-century palace, built in 1563 and regarded then as the most beautiful country estate in Spain, the Six Senses Quexigal Palace will stand out as a truly unique and special property once its doors open in late 2026.

Quexigal Palace will become the second Six Senses property in Spain, but the first on mainland Spain, as Six Senses Ibiza is located on an island.

The 60-room palace hotel, which includes 13 suites and a presidential suite with private gardens, will have a farm-to-table signature restaurant, a pool bar and grill, a spa, and an invite-only secret bar for hotel guests to enjoy.

Wine lovers are in for a special treat at this property. The hotel is proudly owned by two of the most prominent families in the Spanish wine industry, so guests can eagerly anticipate enjoying only the best Spanish wines during their onsite dining experience.

About Six Senses

Six Senses ranks among the most luxurious hotel chains in the world. Some of the planet’s most sought-after destinations, including Bhutan, Oman, and the Seychelles, host Six Senses properties.

IHG Hotels & Resorts acquired Six Senses back in 2019, enabling you to earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points with the brand. Unfortunately, just like other Six Senses properties, you cannot currently redeem IHG One Rewards points for stays at Six Senses. However, when IHG does make Six Senses hotels bookable with points, you’ll want to make sure you have IHG One Rewards points in your account.

Fortunately, IHG One Rewards points are easy to earn. IHG is a 1:1 transfer partner of Bilt Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards, in addition to earning points through hotel stays. You can also earn points through welcome bonuses and daily spending on the best cards for IHG loyalists.

Bottom Line:

Six Senses Quexigal Palace joins IHG’s fast-growing Luxury & Lifestyle segment. It will be the ninth Six Senses property in Europe, joining 8 other locations in Italy, Switzerland, France, Portugal, and Ibiza.

Final Thoughts

The launch of Six Senses Quexigal Palace marks the brand’s move into mainland Spain. The charm of staying in a 16th-century castle is sure to draw numerous travelers. Once it opens in late 2026, guests seeking a luxurious hotel experience in the Madrid area will have a distinct and luxurious option for their accommodations.
