A stunning new resort has opened on the shores of Indonesia, promising a luxe experience at an affordable price.

Here’s what you need to know about the new resort.

Second Luxury Collection Hotel in Indonesia

TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo, has now opened on the island of Flores, located in the eastern half of Indonesia.

The resort has 70 guest rooms, which include 25 villas (7 overwater) and 45 suites. Guests staying in a villa have access to a private butler for the duration of their stay.

Amenities include 3 restaurants, a bar, a lounge, a spa, a fitness center, a pool, and meeting space. The resort is reachable via flight from Jakarta (CGK) or Bali (DPS), then a brief drive.

This is Marriott’s first property in Labuan Bajo and The Luxury Collection’s second in Indonesia.

“As we continue our global foray into the resort category, TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo is a natural and stunning fit,” said Philipp Weghmann, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection.

“The Luxury Collection provides today’s global travelers with rare experiences that are deeply reflective of the destination, and through that lens we invite guests to discover the beauty and vibrant history of Labuan Bajo,” he continued.

Booking TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa

TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is now open for guests. You can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points here, as the resort participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.

Cash rates are reasonable for a luxury hotel of its caliber. The cheapest nights are between October 2024 and March 2025, starting at around $480 per night.

However, Marriott Bonvoy award rates are fantastic for a Luxury Collection property. Here, you’ll find standard rooms starting as low as 44,000 per night. Given the low award rates, we suggest saving your cash and using Marriott Bonvoy points instead.

Hot Tip:

Marriott Bonvoy points are among the easiest hotel points you can earn. Both American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. Marriott also has several co-branded credit cards that will earn you large welcome bonuses and even elite status.

Final Thoughts

We rarely see Luxury Collection properties priced so low with points (or even cash), so this new resort is undoubtedly a sweet spot for travelers wanting to stretch their points in Southeast Asia. If you’ve considered visiting Indonesia, now is the time to plan your trip!
