Hyatt is bringing a new high-end Thompson Hotel to Seville, Spain, in 2026 — giving points travelers another new option to redeem their rewards in Europe.

Here’s what you need to know.

Fourth Thompson Hotel in Europe

Hyatt has inked a deal for the Thompson Seville, a 101-room hotel scheduled to open for guests in 2026. This is the brand’s debut in Seville, Spain’s fourth-largest city, as Hyatt expands its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Europe.

While not much is known about the hotel, it is expected to feature a restaurant, a rooftop bar, a pool, meeting rooms, co-working space, and a gym, Hyatt says.

“We have ambitious plans for our brand expansion in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and today’s announcement is a true testament to our continued success in strengthening our position and ever-growing brand footprint in the region,” said Javier Águila, group president, EAME at Hyatt.

When it opens, Thompson Seville will be Hyatt’s fourth of the brand in Europe. Currently, Hyatt has 1 Thompson currently open, Thompson Madrid, with Thompson Rome and Thompson Vienna scheduled to open in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Bottom Line:

Currently, there are 18 Thompson Hotels open in 16 worldwide destinations, including Los Cabos, Nashville, and San Antonio. The brand focuses on high-end culinary experiences, lobbies that serve as cultural centers, and more.

Booking Hyatt Hotels in Spain

Hyatt has an impressive presence in Spain, with a whopping 70 properties spanning 11 brands.

These include many high-end options, such as 7Pines Resort Ibiza (starting at 25,000 World of Hyatt points or $378 per night) or the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa (starting at 12,000 points or $280.)

Earning World of Hyatt points isn’t the easiest, but they are incredibly valuable. This is especially true for redemptions in Europe. There are dozens of mid-range or high-end Category 1-4 properties where you can use a free night certificate.

You can earn World of Hyatt points by transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio or through welcome bonuses and spending on a co-branded credit card.

Final Thoughts

Seville is Spain’s fourth-largest metropolis and a major tourism attraction, so it makes sense that Hyatt would bring the high-end Thompson brand to the city. While we still don’t have many details on the property, this is a great time to stock up on Hyatt points for other redemptions across Spain and Europe!
