Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

The Chase Ultimate Rewards program has launched a new limited-time transfer bonus offer to the JetBlue TrueBlue program.

Here are the details of the transfer bonus to help you decide if you should take advantage of the promotion for your upcoming travels.

Transfer Bonus From Chase to JetBlue

The standard Chase to JetBlue transfer rate is 1:1, but now through January 10, 2024, you’ll receive a 25% bonus when transferring your Chase points to the TrueBlue program, increasing the transfer rate to 1:1.25.

Additionally, Chase to JetBlue transfers occur nearly instantly, so you’ll be able to take advantage of your 25% bonus points right away to book upcoming travel.

Is It Worth It?

The JetBlue TrueBlue program is a fixed-value rewards program, with every redemption you make tied to the cash cost of the ticket.

Usually, you’ll receive between 1.3 to 1.4 cents per point on standard JetBlue economy tickets, with tickets in JetBlue Mint business class giving you a redemption value of just 1.1 cents per point.

Now, with the 25% transfer bonus, you’d effectively be redeeming your Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 1.63 to 1.75 cents per point on JetBlue economy tickets and 1.38 cents per point on JetBlue Mint tickets. We value Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents per point, so all of these options fall below our ideal redemption threshold.

However, there are some options where transferring to JetBlue could make sense, like if you are transferring a small number of points to top off your account for a certain redemption, if you are using JetBlue points to book a high-value partner ticket like Qatar Qsuites, and for The JetBlue Plus Card or The JetBlue Business Cardholders who receive a 10% rebate on all redeemed points.

Final Thoughts

As always, we would recommend that you avoid speculatively transferring points unless you have an immediate use for them. While this promotion doesn’t offer quite as much value as other transfer bonus promotions, it could make sense for you depending on your travel habits. For those interested in the promotion, make sure you transfer your points before it ends on January 10, 2024.
