Goodbye, 2-3-2 business class, as Turkish Airlines has announced its plans to modernize its business class —- based on valuable customer feedback, as reported by the airline.

Next year, the airline plans to debut its “Crystal” business class suites with closing doors and updated amenities. In addition, Turkish Airlines will welcome new aircraft and retrofit existing cabins in its current fleet.

And new business class seats aren’t the only updates in store, as Turkish Airlines has also announced plans to offer unlimited free Wi-Fi across its flights.

Here’s what you should know about exciting updates on Turkish Airlines planes.

New Turkish Airlines Business Class

Presently, Turkish Airlines uses 3 different business class seats. The Airbus A350 planes offer a suite with a privacy door.

Meanwhile, Boeing 787 planes offer a 1-2-1 layout.

However, a 2-3-2 layout still exists on the airline’s Boeing 777 planes.

And it’s precisely these Boeing 777 planes that will be the first to get the new business-class suites. Turkish Airlines says the new suites were developed based on customer feedback.

In addition to offering suites with closing doors for privacy, the airline is implementing a staggered 1-2-1 layout in business class, ensuring that every passenger has direct aisle access. Moreover, middle seats in every other row will feature honeymoon suites, meaning the seats are physically next to each other when the divider is removed — similar to what people love about Qatar Airways’ Qsuite.

Other standout features include wireless charging points in each suite, 22-inch IFE screens, marble table tops, and rose gold finishes. Turkish Airlines also claims that these suites will offer a more spacious and comfortable experience compared to their current seats, addressing the common complaint about the airline’s existing business-class products.

The new seats were unveiled in a video on the airline’s Twitter/X profile, which you can watch here:

Dubbed “Crystal,” you can expect the new Turkish Airlines business class seats to start flying in 2025 with retrofits on existing B777 aircraft. New plane deliveries from 2026 should include the new suites as well.
Bottom Line:

Starting in 2025, we should see a sleek new business class from Turkish Airlines, and you should be able to book these seats with Miles&Smiles miles, as well as miles from other Star Alliance partners.

Turkish Airlines Plans Unlimited, Free Wi-Fi Across Its Fleet

Another plan for further modernizing its fleet comes with the announcement that Turkish Airlines wants to offer free, unlimited Wi-Fi access. The effort includes retrofitting existing planes with newer technology and adding the latest tech to new plane orders, according to a press release.

Turkish Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TCI Aircraft Interiors and Turksat to move this effort forward. There’s no launch date for when these new capabilities will be available on planes, but we’ll provide updates when details are available.

Final Thoughts

Turkish Airlines has been making headlines recently. Following the launch of a U.S. credit card, the airline has now revealed it plans to offer complimentary Wi-Fi on all its aircraft, along with the introduction of a stylish new business class suite. These new suites are expected to be available starting in 2025, offering privacy doors, wireless charging points, and elegant rose gold touches.
