Earning United Airlines miles on car rentals is not a novel concept. A new promotion from Avis and Budget, however, is offering even more, letting you earn up to 2,750 United miles per rental.

If you book your next rental through cars.united.com, you can earn United MileagePlus miles. You’ll earn up to 1,250 miles per rental with Avis and Budget and save up to 35% on the price during normal times.

But that’s not all. Through November 3, 2024, you can earn a bonus of up to 1,500 miles, yielding a maximum of 2,750 miles per rental.

The number of miles you’ll earn depends on the length of the rental. You’ll get 750 bonus miles on rentals of 3-4 days or 1,500 bonus miles on rentals of 5+ days.

The terms of the promotion don’t mention any maximum earnings, so we assume you can use this offer more than once.

This offer is available in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. However, only Avis rentals (not Budget) are eligible in Mexico.

Travelers with Premier Platinum United elite status and higher can earn 1,250 miles on rentals. Those with Premier Silver and Gold status earn 1,000 miles, Chase United credit card holders earn 750 miles, and general United members earn 500 miles.
