You’ll find a new feature for more inflight entertainment on your next United Airlines flight, thanks to a new partnership with Spotify.

United’s partnership with the digital entertainment provider launched today, June 5, 2025, and is adding over 450 hours of content for customers to enjoy during flights. Here’s a closer look at the partnership and an additional feature coming for passengers in 2026.

United and Spotify Announce New Partnership

United Airlines has announced a new partnership with Spotify, and it’s now available on nearly 700 aircraft that feature United’s newest 4K screens that are Bluetooth-enabled. This content is free for passengers to enjoy.

This marks the first time Spotify has made its audiobooks and video podcasts available on an airline, and there are over 450 hours of content now available for United’s passengers to peruse during flights. Available items include “Good Hang with Amy Poehler,” “The Dave Chang Show,” and “The Comment Section with Drew Afualo.”

Finding Spotify content on seatback screens will be easy, as it’s listed as its own category — “Spotify” — on the menu. This option replaces the previous “Audio” option on the home menu, and sub-menus include “Podcast,” “Video Podcasts,” “Audiobooks,” and “Playlists.” Most United planes with this content will see an update in a few months, making “Spotify” a dedicated channel on inflight entertainment systems. An exact date for this update is unknown.

On United planes with high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, passengers can stream Spotify content on their personal devices using the ultra-fast, gate-to-gate signal. To access this content, passengers must log in with their MileagePlus account information.

Hot Tip:

This partnership is launching with a promotional offer for MileagePlus members who are new Spotify Premium Individual customers. They can sign up for a subscription and earn 1,000 bonus miles. Learn more at united.com/spotify.

New Feature Coming in 2026

Coming next year, though an exact date is unknown, this partnership will get even better with a new feature. Sometime in 2026, United passengers will be able to use their personal devices to log in to the Spotify app on the inflight entertainment screen, letting them enjoy personalized content or pick up where they left off on content they were previously enjoying.

Final Thoughts

United and Spotify have launched a new partnership that’s bringing fresh content to planes with United’s newest inflight entertainment systems. Starting today, hundreds of hours of audio and video content will be available, and passengers will be able to access it for free during flights.
