If you’re a loyal United flyer (or just a big fan of its MileagePlus loyalty program), you’ll want to pay attention. The United℠ Business Card currently features an elevated welcome bonus offer that’s certainly very appealing.

Let’s take a look at the details of this elevated welcome bonus offer and how you can best put your earnings to use!

United Business Card Welcome Bonus

Right now, the United Business card has a new, elevated welcome offer:

  • Earn 100,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months

This bonus is worth $1,200, based on our valuation of United MileagePlus miles.

The United Business card comes with the following perks:

  • 2x miles per $1 spent on United purchases, dining (including eligible delivery services), at gas stations, office supply stores, and on local transit and commuting
  •  1x mile per $1 spent on all other purchases
  •  5,000-mile bonus annually if you have the United Business card in addition to a personal United co-branded card
  •  $100 United travel credit after 7 United flight purchases of $100 or more each anniversary year
  •  Complimentary first checked bag
  •  2 single-entry United Club passes per year
  •  Priority boarding
  •  25% Back on United inflight purchases and premium drink purchases in the United Club
  •  Up to 1,000 Premier Qualifying Points (PQPs) annually. Earn 25 PQPs toward United status for every $500 you spend on your United Business Card, up to a maximum of 1,000 PQPs each year.
  • Travel and shopping protections

How To Redeem United MileagePlus Miles

Once you’ve earned your 100,000-mile welcome bonus offer, you’ll want to put those miles to good use. Typically, you’ll get the most value for your miles when you redeem them for a premium cabin experience, such as United’s own Polaris business class product.

Tickets in the Polaris cabin start at 80,000 United MileagePlus miles one-way for flights between the U.S. and Europe and start at 100,000 miles one-way for flights between the U.S. and Asia. Of course, you can use MileagePlus miles to fly in the coach cabin, but you’ll get consistently better value for each mile when redeeming for more expensive flights.

Also, you can redeem your MileagePlus miles for flights operated by United’s numerous airline partners, including those in the Star Alliance, but compare those award prices to what United is charging for its own flights. Prices can be higher than what you’d pay for a flight on United metal booked through the MileagePlus program, so comparison shop for the best value.

Finally, passengers flying in United Polaris can access the luxurious United Polaris lounges, which are currently located at United’s hub airports in Chicago (ORD)Houston (IAH)Los Angeles (LAX)Newark (EWR)San Francisco (SFO), and Washington, D.C. (IAD).
