This year isn’t even over yet and United is already inspiring us to look longingly to summer 2024.

The Chicago-based airline has announced a significant update to next year’s summer schedule including a new route to Faro, Portugal (FAO) and the return of the airline’s seasons service to Reykjavik, Iceland (KEF).

“Whether customers are looking to travel during peak season or shoulder season, visit the most popular tourism destinations, or discover a hidden gem, the scope and scale of our network makes United the easy choice for transatlantic travel,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United.

Here are the details of United’s summer 2024 schedule update.

United Will Fly Nonstop From Newark to Faro, Portugal Next Summer

The most exciting piece of news in the announcement is by far the fact that United will be the only U.S. airline offering nonstop service to the Faro (FAO), in the heart of the stunning, beach-lined Algarve region of Portugal.

United’s first Faro-bound jet will take to the skies on May 24, 2024. The schedule, as well as pricing, for the 4-times-weekly service is yet to be released.

We can, however, confirm that the route will be operated by the airline’s fleet of aging Boeing 757 aircraft.

Hot Tip:

Tempted to treat yourself to a trip to the Algarve? You’ll definitely want to consider a stay at the stunning W Algarve, where we had the pleasure of staying last summer.

New Flights to Brussels (BRU), Malaga (AGP), Reykjavik (KEF)

Given the unprecedented post-pandemic travel demand, especially to Europe, United will bring back its seasonal service to Reykjavik and increase service to other popular destinations such as Brussels (BRU), Malaga (AGP), and Rome (FCO).

The details of each of the service changes are as follows:
