Universal Halloween Horror Nights is back for the 34th year, bringing terrifying haunted houses, jump scares, gory food, and tons of merch for fans of the spooky season.

With a stacked lineup of pop culture-themed houses and some incredibly detailed original houses, this event is a can’t-miss for horror fans.

Upgraded Points was invited inside with exclusive access, so if you’ve considered adding this limited-time event to your fall schedule, let’s look at what you can expect.

Halloween Horror Nights 2025

Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights from August 29 through November 2, 2025, at Universal Studios Florida. This separately ticketed event features 10 haunted houses, 4 scare zones throughout the park, live entertainment, and more.

Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) single-night tickets start at $84.99. Add-ons include Express Passes, R.I.P. Tours, and Behind-the-Scenes Tours for an extra cost.

One of the underrated benefits of HHN is that some rides and attractions are open until 2 a.m., so if you need a break from the scares (and smells), there is still plenty to do — often, with little to no wait.

Houses

If you’re looking forward to the haunted houses, HHN34 will not disappoint.

With 5 original houses and 5 from some of Universal’s most popular franchises, there is something for all fandoms. This year’s houses include:

  • Five Nights at Freddy’s
  • Fallout
  • Terrifier
  • Jason Universe
  • WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks
  • Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters
  • Dolls: Let’s Play Dead
  • Grave of Flesh
  • Gálkn: Monsters of the North
  • El Artista: A Spanish Haunting

While some houses are scarier than others, everyone will undoubtedly have their own rankings. However, a word of warning from someone who is not the biggest horror fan, Terrifier is especially grotesque.

Scare Zones

Jumpscares are not limited to inside the houses. During HHN, dedicated areas known as scare zones are located throughout the streets of Universal Studios Florida.

Scare zones are a great way to ease into the fog.

In scare zones, you will find scare actors roaming the streets looking for unsuspecting victims. Keep your head on a swivel when you walk through these areas!

This year’s scare zones include:

  • The Origins of Horror
  • Masquerade: Dance with Death
  • The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane
  • Mutations: Toxic Twenties

These areas are less intense than the haunted houses, which is a nice option for those who are still warming up to the idea of being terrified.

Hot Tip:

Not ready for the big scares? Universal is now selling “Deathly Afraid” necklaces for $20, which will help “limit scares in common areas and scare zones.”

Entertainment

There is so much to do at Halloween Horror Nights (besides the houses and scare zones) that it is hard to do everything in just 1 night.

Consider taking in a show if you need a break from the slashing. This year’s shows include:

  • Nightmare Fuel: Circus of Decay
  • Haunt-O-Phonic: A Ghoulish Journey
  • Mel’s Dine-In Zombies
  • Club Horror

Fans of theme park rides can hop on the following:

  • Revenge of the Mummy
  • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
  • TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D
  • MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack

Rides are open until 2 a.m. on select nights, and there are often much shorter lines than when the park is typically open since most people are in line for the houses.

Food and Merchandise

Like any good event at a theme park, Halloween Horror Nights features limited-edition themed merchandise and scary-good food and drinks.

This year, you can find new merchandise throughout the park and at the Tribute Store, and specialty food items in the following locations inside Universal Studios Florida:

  • Five Nights at Freddy’s Dining
  • Fallout Booth
  • Terrifier Booth
  • Jason Universe Booth
  • The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks Booth
  • Dolls: Let’s Play Dead Booth
  • El Artista: A Spanish Haunting Booth
  • The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane Booth
  • Cursed Carnival Booth
  • Twisted Tater Chips Booth
  • HHN Bar
  • Black Cat Lounge
  • Avenue Eats
  • 57 Scare
  • Fanta Bars
  • Club Horror Bar
  • Dreamwork’s Imagination Cafe
  • TODAY Cafe
  • San Francisco Pastry Company
  • Various Tent/Cart locations throughout the park

The names, from Clown Cafe Bloody Popcorn to Huskus’ Muscle Man Slop, may be disgusting, but the food is actually pretty good.

Final Thoughts

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights is back for 2025, packed with original houses and fan-favorite IPs.

From Five Nights at Freddy’s and Jason to Terrifier and Fallout, HHN34 is terrifyingly good. Whether you’re a die-hard horror fan or just looking for a few jump scares this fall, Halloween Horror Nights is not to be missed.
