Portugal’s first W property has opened its doors on the sun-kissed coastline of the Algarve.
“W Algarve marks the first W Hotel to open in Portugal, bringing a unique, modern luxury experience that is focused on socializing, to the Algarve’s hospitality scene,” said Candice D’Cruz, Vice President of Luxury Brands for EMEA at Marriott International.
Let’s check out Portugal’s hottest new hotel.
W Debuts in Portugal
Close to the town of Albufeira on Portugal’s Southern coast, the W Algarve is ready and waiting with its 134 swanky new guest rooms and suites designed in a way that only the W knows how.
“It feels like the perfect moment to be opening our doors with summer 2022 set to be huge for travel to Portugal, and we can’t wait for guests to discover a new W Escape in one of the most beautiful regions in the world,” said Cajetan Araujo, General Manager.
Each of the rooms’ balconies is west-facing, meaning every guest will get to enjoy sundowners from the comfort of their rooms. The property also has 10 signature WOW Suites, each featuring a private roof terrace.
Guests will get to enjoy delectable delights created by Portuguese chef Nuno Goncalves at 6 dining and drinking spots throughout the hotel. From the reimagined take on classic Portuguese cuisine at Market Kitchen to the views and cocktails of Sea Sky terrace, you’re sure to enjoy every sip and savor every bite.
Getting to the Algarve
There are no direct flights between the U.S. and Faro (FAO), the Algarve’s airport.
However, WestJet does operate a weekly Wednesday flight from Toronto (YYZ) to Faro (FAO).
Alternatively, you can hop on a nonstop flight to Lisbon (LIS) or Porto (OPO) from cities across the U.S.
