Canada’s eastern and western ends will be connected by yet another nonstop flight when WestJet begins service between Toronto, Ontario (YYZ), and Kelowna, BC (YLW) begins on November 5, 2023.

“The addition of this new route to our winter schedule is a further continuation of our growth strategy’s focus on providing non-stop service connecting eastern and Western Canada twelve months of the year,” said Jane McCurdy, Director of Network Planning and Alliances at WestJet.

Here are the details of WestJet’s latest route addition.

WestJet will deploy its fleet of Boeing 737-700 aircraft on the route. The aircraft can carry up to 132 passengers with 12 in Premium (the equivalent of U.S. domestic first class), and 120 in economy.

Up front, seats are laid out in 3 rows in a 2-2 configuration while the rows in economy are set up in the typical 3-3 configuration.

On the days that WestJet operates the route, passengers are likely to be swayed by its fares. They’re often lower than Air Canada’s, which offers a double-daily service on the route.

Hot Tip:

If you’ve never flown with WestJet before, then you might want to spend a few moments familiarizing yourself with its baggage rules and regulations so you don’t get caught paying a nasty fee at the airport.

Final Thoughts

WestJet’s new service will provide Torontonians with a new way of getting to the snow this winter as well as those living in Kelowna and the surrounding area with a new direct access to WestJet’s expansive network from Toronto.

We’re excited for this new route and can’t wait to see what else WestJet has planned for future network expansion.
