HBO’s hit show “The White Lotus” is returning for a fourth season, much to the delight of fans everywhere. Since its debut several years ago in Maui, the show has turned luxury hotels in hotspots worldwide into the now infamous White Lotus hotel, and guessing where the next season will film has become a favorite pastime for fans eagerly awaiting the premiere of a new season.

It’s now all but confirmed that the show is heading to France to film the upcoming fourth season, which means it’s time to speculate about which hotel will be transformed into the White Lotus next.

Let’s take a look at what we know so far and discuss the possibilities of which French hotel may be turned into the newest White Lotus property.

‘The White Lotus’ Will Film in France for Season 4

Per reporting from Deadline, “The White Lotus” has landed on France for the location of the show’s fourth season. Now, of course, everyone’s wondering which hotel in the country will be transformed into the next perennially doomed property.

The show’s first season was filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. Since then, all seasons have been set at various Four Seasons properties around the world, including San Domenico Palace, Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel, in Italy for Season 2, and various Four Seasons properties in Thailand, primarily the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui for Season 3.

Clearly, the show has a good thing going with Four Seasons properties, so it seems highly unlikely that the show would change course. There have even been rumors of property managers at various Four Seasons resorts attempting to lure the show’s producers, due to the uptick in bookings these properties have seen after gaining notoriety with fans.

That leads us to examine the Four Seasons properties in France to infer which would be the most likely setting for the scandalous — even murderous — storylines of White Lotus guests.

Four Seasons has 3 hotels in France, making our job a little easier. They are the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris; the Four Seasons Hotel Megève in the French Alps; and the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons Hotel, in the French Riviera.

Which property is most likely to be the next White Lotus hotel? Our money is on the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, and here’s why.

Every White Lotus hotel so far has been a beach resort of some sort. It’s clear the directors and producers like working at this kind of property. The Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, while not directly on the beach, is certainly a seaside resort and has an iconic pool and beach club called Le Club Dauphine set dramatically above the Mediterranean waters below.

The Four Seasons Hotel Megève could be a stunning setting for a White Lotus hotel, thanks to its excellent Alpine location, but it would represent a dramatic departure from the show’s formula that’s worked so well throughout the years. That being said, it might be a welcome switch-up among fans clamoring to see the vain but undeniably glamorous White Lotus guests dressed in their finest furs, sweaters, and thousand-dollar (or more) ski boots.

Deadline, a well-connected, Hollywood-centric publication, also notes that producer Mike White is not a fan of the cold, so this could be another knock against the Megève location.

The Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris would perhaps be an even more dramatic departure than a mountain property. While the hotel would make an incredible backdrop for the twists and turns of a season of “The White Lotus,” it would represent a total shift in direction for the show. However, it would be pretty incredible to see the show’s characters visiting the iconic sites of Paris — and who wouldn’t love seeing a Parisian car chase?

Final Thoughts

With “The White Lotus” (allegedly) settling on France for the location of Season 4, we can now make educated guesses as to which property will be transformed into the series’ iconic resort.

Our bets are on the Grand-Hôtel du Cap Ferrat in the French Riviera, but “The White Lotus” loves nothing more than a plot twist, so perhaps this year we’ll see a ski-centric — or even an urban — drama unfold on our televisions.

Now, we wait to see who the murder suspects could be…
