The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card brought back its 100,000-point welcome offer this summer, and it generated a lot of buzz. While that elevated welcome offer is no longer available, there’s another Chase card with a rare welcome bonus just as valuable — if not more.

The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card tends to fly under the radar compared to Chase’s more popular Sapphire cards, but right now, its elevated welcome offer provides 33% more value than the standard bonus offer. It’s a great opportunity for business owners like me — so here are 4 reasons it’s the next card I’m applying for.

1. Best-Ever $1,000 Welcome Offer

Over the years, the Ink Business Unlimited card has featured a $750 welcome offer that occasionally jumps to $900. However, the current welcome offer provides even more value than that:

  • Earn $1,000 bonus cash-back after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first 4 months from account opening.

This is the best welcome offer we’ve seen on the Ink Business Unlimited card’s history.

Technically, the welcome offer is advertised as $1,000 in cash-back, but it’s actually given as 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points that can be redeemed directly through Chase for cash-back, gift cards, or travel booked through the Chase Travel portal. If you also hold an eligible premium Ultimate Rewards card, you can transfer those same points to the lineup of Chase airline and hotel partners, which can provide excellent redemption opportunities.

Hot Tip:

Chase launched this elevated welcome offer just days before the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s 100,000-point bonus offer. However, the issuer has not publicly announced an expiration date for the Ink Business Preferred’s $1,000 welcome offer, so we’re not sure how long it will stick around.

2. It’s a Useful Catch-all Card for Business Expenses

The Ink Business Unlimited earns unlimited 1.5% cash-back on every purchase, with no bonus categories, no spending caps, no quarterly activation, and nothing to remember to track. Whatever you buy for your business, it earns the same 1.5x rate.

That simplicity is very useful if your spending is spread across many miscellaneous categories that don’t earn bonuses elsewhere.

If you’re a freelancer, small business owner, consultant, creator, or someone running a side hustle alongside a full-time job, you likely encounter a rotating mix of expenses that don’t fit neatly into boxes. A flat-rate card removes the mental overhead of figuring out which card earns the most on any given purchase.

3. It Gets Better When Pairing With Other Chase Cards

Pairing the Ink Business Unlimited card with premium Chase cards elevates it above other flat-rate cash-back business cards, which can be useful, but aren’t particularly exciting.

On its own, the Ultimate Rewards points you earn with the Ink Business Unlimited can only be redeemed for cash-back, gift cards, or travel through the Chase Travel portal, all generally at a rate of 1 cent per point. Those are fine as options, but they don’t offer any outsized value.

However, if you also hold an eligible premium Ultimate Rewards card, you can consolidate your Ultimate Rewards balances. Once pooled, the points become eligible for transfer to Chase’s airline and hotel partners. These premium Ultimate Rewards cards include:

This turns the Ink Business Unlimited card’s flat 1.5% cash-back rate into an effective 1.5x transferable Ultimate Rewards rate on every purchase, as long as you’re holding it alongside one of those premium cards.

Depending on how you redeem them, transferred points can be worth meaningfully more than 1 cent per point, particularly for premium-cabin flights or luxury hotel stays. This is why we value Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents per point, as it’s often easy to exceed 1 cent per point when you use transfer partners. Valued at 2 cents per point, 100,000 Chase points could offer you $2,000 or more in value toward future travel experiences.

If you don’t already have one of those premium cards, that’s worth factoring into your decision. But if you do, or you’re planning to add one, the Ink Business Unlimited card becomes a powerful complement for optimizing your business expenses.

4. It Doesn’t Charge an Annual Fee

With premium credit cards, you typically have to weigh whether the annual fee the card charges is worth it each year by tallying up credits, lounge visits, and perks to see if they cover the cost of the fee you pay.

That calculation doesn’t apply to the Ink Business Unlimited card, because it has a $0 annual fee. It provides long-term value and comes with a fantastic welcome offer with no added cost.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

The welcome offer on the Ink Business Unlimited card isn’t the only reason it’s worth applying for. Its 1.5% cash-back, ability to pair well with other Chase credit cards, and no annual fee all make it worth adding to your wallet. With the largest welcome offer we’ve ever seen on the Ink Business Unlimited card, it’s a great time to apply.
