The more credit cards I get and the longer I am in the points and miles game, the more I appreciate easy-to-use benefits. That’s why I love the digital entertainment credit on the Platinum Card® from American Express.

This annual credit of up to $240 is an easy way to get value from the Amex Platinum card to help offset its steep $895 annual fee (rates & fees).

Let’s take a look at how to use the Amex Platinum card’s digital entertainment credit and why it’s so great.

Amex Platinum Card Digital Entertainment Credit

We’ve written extensively about the Amex Platinum card’s benefits, so I won’t go into detail here. What I do want to take a closer look at is the digital entertainment credit and how to get great value from it.

The Amex Platinum card offers a digital entertainment credit of up to $240 per year (up to $20 per month) for select streaming services and subscriptions, upon enrollment.

  • Disney+ (including Disney+ Bundle)
  • ESPN+
  • Hulu
  • Peacock
  • The New York Times
  • The Wall Street Journal

While this list doesn’t include all digital entertainment options, it includes some very popular ones. Many people probably already subscribe to 1 or more of these services, making this perk an easy way to get more value from your Amex Platinum card without much effort.

Once you enroll in the offer, just use your Amex Platinum card to pay for any of the included digital entertainment options. Statement credits of up to $20 will be automatically applied each month.

You can use the credit for any combination of services, up to $20 per month. I love to use mine for my monthly subscriptions for Peacock, The New York Times and Hulu, which saves me well over $200 per year. These are services I would have subscribed to anyway without the Amex Platinum card.

Hot Tip:

Keep in mind that this credit is for up to $20 per month. If you purchase an annual subscription, you only get 1 $20 credit. Instead, opt for a monthly subscription to take advantage of the credit each month.

How To Enroll for the Digital Entertainment Credit

You must enroll before you can use the monthly digital entertainment credit. To do this, log in to your account and go to Rewards & Benefits. Scroll down to find the $240 digital entertainment credit option, and click on Get Started.

Once you’re registered, you’ll see a tracker showing how much credit you’ve received each month.

Bottom Line:

The Amex Platinum card offers lots of perks but has a hefty annual fee. That’s why I love benefits like the digital entertainment credit. It’s an easy way to get value from the card on something I already spend money on. If you can maximize this benefit, you’ll get up to $240 in value each year.

Final Thoughts

The Amex Platinum card digital entertainment credit is an easy-to-use monthly statement credit for select streaming services and subscriptions. You can get up to $20 back each month after enrolling and paying for services, including Disney+ and Hulu, with your Amex Platinum card. This benefit is an easy way to offset the card’s annual fee.
