Did you know that you can earn KrisFlyer miles by shopping online at your favorite stores? That’s right — it’s not just booking flights that will earn you those frequent flyer miles…buying that pair of sneakers you’ve been after will do it too!

Here you’ll find out how to make the most of Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer Spree shopping portal, and how to maximize earning those valuable bonus points.

Shopping Portal Homepage

When you first arrive at the shopping portal site, be sure to set your merchant location to the USA to see the most relevant bonus offers.

As long as you don’t clear your cookies, then your location should be remembered for future visits.

How to Log in to Your Account

If you’re already a PSS Club or KrisFlyer member, you don’t need to create a separate login – you simply use the account you already have. If you are not an existing PSS Club or KrisFlyer member, you will need to create an account.

Basics of Using the Portal

You don’t need to be logged in to browse retailers and bonus offers, but once you find something to purchase, you’ll need to log in so the purchase can be tracked.

The shopping portal is easy to navigate. Image Credit: krisflyerspree.com.

On the shopping portal’s homepage, you can view seasonal promotions and featured offers with bonus point earnings.

You can search for a particular retailer using the search icon at the top right or browse by category.

When searching by category, you’ll have the choice to view retailers for “Entertainment” “Food & drink,” “Health & beauty,” and “Electronics,” just to name a few.

Clicking on a retailer will show you the miles per dollar and any current bonus offers, if applicable. You can also find a brief overview of the company and purchase conditions.

The handy calculator icon allows you to work out how many KrisFlyer miles you will earn for a particular purchase amount.

If you want to shop and take advantage of the bonus offer, then click the “Shop now” button to head straight to the retailer’s website.

From here, you can shop as normal. Any purchases will be recorded automatically using cookies, so be sure they are enabled on your browser!

Once you make a qualifying purchase, KrisFlyer Spree shows a pending status within 5 days, and the miles should be credited to your account within 90 days.

Hot Tip: You must click through to a store via the “Shop now” button. If you make a purchase through a retailer without going through the shopping portal, there is no way to retroactively apply your bonus points!

You can sort your results alphabetically, by highest bonus offer, most popular, and by stores recently added.

Bonus Offers and eVouchers

Click the Bonus tab to see a list of retailers that are currently offering more bonus miles than usual. To view the usual point earning, you’ll need to click through to the retailer’s page.

On the eVouchers tab, you can view current offers from retailers in addition to the regular bonus miles. This might be a discount off a particular item or a free shipping promotion, for example.

Example Retailers

KrisFlyer Spree appears to have high bonus earnings, but these are calculated for a $10 spend rather than a $1 spend-to-miles ratio that most other shopping portals use.

So browse carefully to compare bonus point earnings for retailers if you’re part of more than 1 frequent flyer program!

At the time of this writing, these were some of the better earning rates being offered:

  • Macy’s: 26X miles per $10
  • Etsy: 26X miles per $10
  • ShopDisney: 19X miles per $10
  • American Eagle: 15X miles per $10
  • Apple: 11X miles per $10
  • …and much more!

Using Rewards Cards to Earn Extra KrisFlyer Miles

If your primary goal is to earn Singapore KrisFlyer miles, we recommend to use a credit card that’ll earn points which can then be transferred directly to your KrisFlyer account.

Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points and Marriott Points can all be transferred to your Singapore account.

Our personal preference is to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards because we think they are incredibly valuable. See our recommended Chase cards below:

Final Thoughts

If you’re a frequent flyer with Singapore Airlines, then it’s worth taking advantage of the shopping portal and boosting your miles toward reward flights.

But don’t expect to get there quickly — the shopping portal isn’t the most generous we’ve seen, with others offering better spend-to-miles ratios.
