For over 70 years, Delsey has been a mainstay in the luggage market. Known for its innovation and durability, the brand has earned its reputation as one of the top suitcase brands worldwide.

The Comete 3.0 Spinner luggage line is an example of Delsey’s balance of quality and affordability at work. Whether heading out on a business trip or a family vacation, this sleek and fashionable collection has you covered.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Spinner Luggage

Delsey’s Comete Spinner line consists of a small but mighty selection of bags designed to maximize packing space. Appearance-wise, it’s versatile and appropriate for a fun getaway with friends or an important business conference.

While Delsey Comete Spinner bags are relatively understated and even run-of-the-mill in their appearance, they truly shine when it comes to their strength and durability. So, no matter how often you travel, these bags have you covered.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Spinner Luggage Review

For this review, we’re looking at the medium-sized checked bag in the Delsey Comete luggage collection. This stylish little bag has a clamshell opening and is spacious enough to carry a week’s worth of clothing, toiletries, or any other personal items you may need to pack.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Spinner Style and Look

Timelessness and versatility are the 2 main words that describe the Delsey Comete’s look. While it’s not the swankiest bag on the market, that’s part of why we liked it. It’s the kind of bag that won’t feel dated, so it can be used for years.

The collection is available in 3 different colors to suit a variety of tastes. All 3 tones are stylish and help the bag stand out among others you’ll find on a luggage carousel. We particularly liked the blue color, but there’s also a graphite gray and lavender option.

The vertical lines on the case’s exterior add a bit of detail and provide some useful grip when handling the case.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Size and Compartments

Though it’s a medium-sized bag, we found it to be the perfect size for most trips. Weighing just over 8 pounds, it’s easy to pack everything you need without exceeding airline weight limits.

It’s also pretty spacious. It’s 26.5 x 17.5 x 11 inches from top to bottom, with an additional 2 inches available if you need them, thanks to the expander zipper.

The bag also has 2 main compartments to help you stay organized.

A side of the interior has an X-shaped strap for keeping items secure and clothes pressed flat and relatively wrinkle-free. The other side of the bag can be closed via the zipper of the fabric divider.

We appreciated the mesh compartment on the divider for smaller items, but it’s quite a delicate material and could be susceptible to ripping. We would have liked a few more compartments, like shoe pockets or a small pocket along the case’s spine. You may want to use packing cubes to keep your belongings organized.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Durability and Materials

The Delsey Comete is made of a variety of materials. The outer shell is made of a mix of polycarbonate and ABS. These materials are known for being strong and lightweight, resisting dents and cracks.

While these materials can be prone to scratching, the case’s textured exterior helps to resist this.

We were also pleased with the bag’s interior lining. It’s reasonably soft and is made from recycled materials. It can’t be unzipped to wash but does wipe down easily should there be a spillage with your toiletries.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Spinner Wheels

Delsey’s luggage wheels are some of its best features, and those on the Comete are no different. The 4 wheels glide and spin smoothly on virtually any surface.

We tested them on various floors without any trouble. Our only issue was that they were quite noisy, which can be annoying if you roll your case in a quiet location or for long distances.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Handles

There are 3 handles on the medium Comete Spinner. The first and most important is the telescopic handle. It has 2 different height settings, so it’s comfortable for travelers of varying heights.

We often find telescopic handles to be a weak point on many bags, especially when they’re fully expanded. The handle on this case was smooth to pull up and down, but it did rattle around at the highest setting.

We liked that there were 2 other handles to lift or carry the suitcase without having to put too much weight on the rolling handle. There’s a handle on top and another on the side, both of which lay pretty flat against the bag between uses. While that reduces bulk, we wish there was a little more give in the handles since they were a bit hard to grip.

With streamlined handles, there are no frills. That means no cushioned grip, which we were disappointed by since the bag was pretty uncomfortable to carry after a minute.

Delsey Comete 3.0 Locks and Zips

Security was a bit hit-and-miss with the Comete Spinner. Unfortunately, there’s no integrated lock. While you can add your own with no problem, having one built-in would have been nice.

On the bright side, we liked the bag’s zippers, which were of the high quality that Delsey is known for. There are 2 zipper pulls, which both run smoothly and are easy to grip.

We didn’t notice any snagging or uneven teeth, and the zippers didn’t open unexpectedly once closed. The material also felt pretty strong, so we’re not worried about it ripping.

Delsey Warranty and Customer Service

Like all of Delsey’s bags, the Comete 3.0 Spinner is covered by a warranty. Unless otherwise stated, this warranty usually lasts about 5 years.

Unfortunately, it’s a limited warranty, so it really only protects against manufacturing issues or defects. The warranty covers only the wheels, zippers, extensions, and handles. These are the weakest parts of the bag, but we wish the shell were also included.

Other Delsey Comete 3.0 Spinner Luggage

The Comete line is pretty small and only consists of 3 bags. In addition to the medium-sized suitcase we looked at in this review, the line also has a carry-on and a large checked bag.

While we would have liked for the collection to be a little bigger, including pieces like a micro carry-on or a tech bag, we found that it covered all the essential bases for packing.

Final Thoughts

Delsey is known for its reliability, and it’s been a dominant presence in the mid-level luggage market for decades.

The brand’s Comete line of bags is a prime example of this reputation at work. This trusty line of bags is as versatile as it is stylish and can stand up to years of regular use.

While we wish it had a few more perks, like more pockets for extra organization, we were pleased with the quality of this collection overall.
