It seems like new hotels are popping up every day. From as close as New York City to as far away as China, we’ve compiled a list of the hottest hotel openings, properties to keep an eye on, and news from around the hotel industry.

Without further adieu, here’s our round-up of October hotel openings and news in the U.S. and worldwide.

New Hotels

Caesars New Orleans, New Orleans

After a nearly half-billion renovation, Caesars New Orleans has reopened. The 800-room property features the famed Caesars Tower but will soon open the ultra-luxe Nobu Hotel at the site. The Big Easy will get its first Nobu restaurant, and the hotel will feature 150,000+ square feet of gaming and dining space with more than 1,300 slot machines, 120 table games, and 12 dining options.

Rates here start at $199 per night for dates next spring.

Hollywood Volume, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Los Angeles

This isn’t a new hotel, per se; rather, it is a reflagging of an existing property. Formerly Tommie Hollywood, operated by Hyatt, the property officially reopened as a Marriott Bonvoy property.

Located in Hollywood’s Vinyl District, Hollywood Volume, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel boasts 212 guest rooms and suites, including a handful of 1-bedroom suites on the top floor. The amenities that guests loved as its initial Hyatt hotel will remain, such as a country bar, rooftop pool, and programming. Other amenities include a fitness center, a Mexican restaurant, and a cafe.

Cash rates at Hollywood Volume start at around $200 per night for dates next year. If you want to use Marriott Bonvoy points, you’re lucky; this hotel is a fantastic steal for Hollywood. Award nights start at just 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

The Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo opened in the Dominican Republic capital earlier this month. The 130-room and suite hotel is located in the posh Ensanche Piantini neighborhood. Amenities include 4 dining outlets, nearly 13,000 square feet of event spaces, a terrace, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool.

A standard queen room will cost around $160 per night for dates next spring, while a suite will cost around $300. As a Category 2 World of Hyatt property, rates start at just 6,500 points per night for off-peak dates.

Hot Tip:

You’ll earn 500 bonus points for qualifying nights at Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo through January 31, 2025, at this hotel. No registration is required! Hyatt regularly offers 500 bonus points at new hotels, so check the list regularly. It updates monthly.

Hyatt Regency Huangshan Hengjiangwan, China

The Hyatt Regency Huangshan Hengjiangwan opened earlier this month with 250 guest rooms and suites. All rooms feature private balconies, offering views of the Hengjiang River or the hotel’s outdoor gardens. A more-than-2,000-square-foot “family suite” offers a separate living room and full kitchen. Amenities include 3 restaurants, meeting and event spaces, a fitness center, an indoor pool, and a kid’s playground.

Like The Perennial Tianjin, the Hyatt Regency Huangshan Hengjiangwan is also a Category 1 hotel. This is not particularly surprising, as Hyatt hotels tend to be dirt cheap in parts of Asia, such as China. Cash rates at the Hyatt Regency start at around $100 per night next spring.

Hyatt Centric Cairo West

The Hyatt Centric Cairo West opened on October 29, 2024, and it’s billed as the first art-centered lifestyle hotel in Egypt’s capital. It’s located near the Grand Egyptian Museum and features 301 guest rooms and suites. The property also has a pool, aqua gym, and Egypt’s first podcast and guitar studio inside a hotel.

Guestrooms are inspired by the ancient Egyptian baboon, while food and beverage offerings include a grab-and-go market, bar, lounge, and a pool bar, as well as a restaurant.

The Manner, New York City

The 97-room The Manner has opened in Manhattan’s posh SoHo neighborhood. A new concept from the Standard International brand, all rooms at The Manner boast full-length mirrors, marble bathrooms, and custom chandeliers. The hotel offers 3 dining options, including a private lounge, and will open a private rooftop for guests next spring. Rates at The Manner start at $899 per night for dates this fall and winter.

This summer, World of Hyatt announced that it planned to acquire Standard International, the parent company of The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels. The acquisition will bring nearly 2 dozen hotels — and 2,000 hotel rooms — into the World of Hyatt loyalty program. These hotels will join a new “lifestyle group,” though Hyatt is keeping mum about it for now.

“We will share more about our new lifestyle group — as well as when World of Hyatt members can earn & redeem at Standard International properties — later this year,” a Hyatt spokesperson told Upgraded Points back in August. Ostensibly, The Manner will join World of Hyatt when the acquisition is complete.

The Perennial Tianjin, China

The Perennial Tianjin becomes the fourth hotel to join the JdV by Hyatt brand in the Greater China region.

The hotel has 178 guest rooms and suites, with the smallest coming in at 376 square feet. Amenities here include a fitness center with a 6,200-square-foot indoor pool, 2 fine-dining restaurants, 11 meeting rooms, and a grand ballroom.

Perhaps the cheapest hotel in this month’s round-up, this Category 1 hotel starts at just 3,500 points per night (off-peak). Should you choose to book with cash, rates start at $70 per night next year. Either way, the Perennial Tianjin is a solid choice should you want to mattress run for Hyatt elite status.

St. Regis Belgrade, Serbia

The St. Regis Belgrade has opened in the Serbian capital with 119 guestrooms and suites. The hotel offers a 360-degree observation deck with sweeping views of the city. Amenities include a ballroom, dining options Savant Brasserie, Rise Patisserie, and St. Regis Bar, plus the St. Regis Spa and a fitness center.

Cash rates at the St. Regis Belgrade start at around $400 on the low end. Given the hotel is pricey, you’re better off using Marriott Bonvoy points. Rates start at just 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points nightly.

Hot Tip:

You can earn a whopping 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per stay — worth $105 — when you stay at the St. Regis Belgrade before December 21, 2024. Make sure to use the promo code M11.

St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai, China

The St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai, opened earlier this month as the brand’s 60th property. The hotel has 192 guest rooms, including 13 suites with views of the Huangpu River and the historic Bund area.

The hotel offers 4 dining options: the Chinese restaurant Celestial Court, the all-day The St. Regis Brasserie, the New York-inspired St. Regis Bar, and The Drawing Room, which will open by year’s end. Amenities include the famed St. Regis spa, a 24-hour fitness center, and nearly 12,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces.

You’ll find cash rates for as low as $300 per night — an excellent deal for any St. Regis — through the first quarter of 2025. The cheapest award rates start at 69,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, though rates average around 78,000 points nightly.

3 Atwell Suites Properties Open in the U.S.

IHG is significantly expanding its Atwell Suites brand in the United States. The new brand focuses on thoughtfully designed suites and emphasizes its public spaces, which can be interchangeably used for work and play.

These 3 hotels in Kansas, Nevada, and Texas are open or opening later this fall:

  • Atwell Suites Kansas City Airport (Now Open): The 104-room hotel is just a few from Kansas City International Airport (MCI). Amenities include complimentary breakfast, coworking spaces, and a fitness studio. Rates start at $122 nightly or 22,000 IHG One Rewards points next year.
  • The Atwell Suites Henderson at the Pass (Late November): The 90-room hotel features amenities such as a hot and cold breakfast, a bar, a pool, and a fitness center. Rates start at $161 per night or 30,000 IHG One Rewards points.
  • The Atwell Suites Fort Worth Alliance Area (Late November): This 96-room property is near the Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Amenities include a hot and cold breakfast, coworking spaces, a gym, a meeting room, and a 24-hour market. Rates start at $152 per night or 22,000 IHG points.

Upcoming Hotels

Faena New York (Spring 2025)

On a site originally slated to become a Six Senses, Faena New York will open next spring along New York’s High Line in the Meatpacking District. The hotel will have guest rooms and suites and will be part of the ALL – Accor Live Limitless program. This will become the third Faena location; the other 2 are located in Buenos Aires and Miami. Faena New York is scheduled to open for guests in the spring of 2025.

Conrad Hamburg (August 2025)

The Conrad Hamburg will open in the historic Levantehaus building, which was built in the early 1900s. Details about the hotel are scant, but we know it will feature an indoor pool, a fitness center, a spa, and an on-site restaurant. The Conrad Hamburg is slated to open in August 2025. However, the hotel is not accepting reservations yet, so it’s unclear how much it will cost with cash or Hilton Honors points.

Hyatt Place Sonoma Wine Country, California (2026)

The hotel will join the nearby Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country as another offering for Hyatt guests in the area.

Other Hotel News

Marriott’s New Four Points Flex by Sheraton Brand

Zleep Hotels in Denmark is being rebranded to the Four Points Flex by Sheraton, according to Business Traveller. Most properties will be rebranded by December, though the full conversion will finish early next year.

Radisson Hotel Group Signs 5 Hotels in Italy

Radisson has inked a deal for 5 new hotels across Italy, joining 7 upcoming openings. The hotel giant will open the following properties: Radisson Collection Hotel, San Gottardo Como (September 2025), art’otel Rome Piazza Sallustio (late 2024 or early 2025), Radisson Blu Hotel, Bergamo (December 2024), and Radisson Hotel Pisa (2025).

Radisson called Italy a “crucial growth market.” The hotel chain said the 5 signed hotels and 7 additional hotels “brings us one step closer to realizing our expansion strategy in Italy,” according to Vice President Elie Younes. “These hotels also highlight our commitment to create more opportunities for our owners and possibilities for our guests by introducing new brands to the country and cementing our presence.”

How To Book

Several hotels on this list have now opened for guests, while others will open in the next 24 months.

If you’re booking cash directly with a major hotel chain — such as an IHG, Hilton, or Marriott — you can’t go wrong with using a credit card with that program. If you’re paying with points — which we recommend — here are your options, depending on the program. Let’s take a look.

Hilton Honors

Hilton Honors points are among the easiest hotel currency you can earn. That’s because the hotel chain has several co-branded cards, offering big welcome bonuses and some form of elite status with Hilton. Additionally, American Express Membership Rewards and Bilt Rewards are 1:1 transfer partners with Hilton, and the former frequently runs transfer bonuses. Finally, you can earn points through activities such as the Hilton Honors Dining program if you need to top up your balance.

IHG One Rewards

While IHG doesn’t have as many ways to earn points as, say, Hilton, you still have some options. The fastest (and easiest) way to earn IHG One Rewards points is by opening a co-branded credit card. Other ways to earn points include transferring points earned from Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio.

Marriott Bonvoy

Marriott Bonvoy is another program whose points are incredibly easy to earn. The chain has 2 transfer partners, Amex Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards, and a handful of co-branded Marriott personal and business credit cards.

Radisson Rewards

The easiest way to earn Radisson Rewards points is by having elite status with the chain. The lowest tier, Club, earns 8x points per $1 spent. Premium members earn 27x points, while top-tier VIPs earn a whopping 36x points per $1 spent. Other ways to earn Radisson Rewards points include promotions, car rentals, and meeting or event hosting.

World of Hyatt

World of Hyatt points are perhaps the most difficult to earn of the hotel chains on this list. The program has 2 transfer partners: Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards. You can transfer points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio through these programs. Hyatt also has 2 co-branded cards: 1 personal and 1 business. Other ways to earn Hyatt points are through its partnership with American Airlines, booking rental cars, hosting a meeting, or using booking with FIND Experiences.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, there are some absolutely fabulous hotels that either opened this month or are opening in the next few months. They’re all bookable with points — and some offer some fantastic deals. Make sure to send us a note if you check out any of these new hotels or have news on upcoming properties to share.

We’ll be back next month for more hotel round-ups!
