The author stayed as an invited guest of The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos. All opinions are the author’s own, and The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, had no input in any part of this review.

My family and I visit the island of Providenciales (the hub of tourism in the Turks and Caicos Islands) every year, sometimes even twice a year, and we can’t get enough of this gorgeous place!

While other Caribbean islands may have fantastic resorts and a plethora of activities for families, I truly love the Turks and Caicos Islands for their unique charm and exclusivity. Sparkling waters and delicious seafood, especially the fried conch, are just the cherry on top!

During this visit, I was invited to the island to experience what is considered one of the most luxurious points properties (hint: there aren’t many) in Turks and Caicos: The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos.

After nearly a dozen trips to Turks and Caicos, I usually stay at an Airbnb away from Grace Bay and the noise and bustle for peace and quiet. This time, I immersed myself in the experience of this luxurious resort on the famed Grace Bay Beach.

Here’s a peek inside my stay and what you can expect when you visit here!

Booking The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos

As I mentioned earlier, The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, stands out as the leading points hotel on the island of Providenciales. It’s part of Marriott Bonvoy, which means you can earn or redeem Marriott Bonvoy points here.

In contrast to numerous other Caribbean destinations, Turks and Caicos stands out as an expensive destination, and as a result, the nightly rates at the resorts mirror this exclusivity. The lowest cash rate I uncovered for the year was $751 per night, including taxes and fees.

Ritz Carlton Cash Rates
Nightly rates at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, start at $751 per night, including taxes. Image Credit: Marriott

However, it’s common to encounter nightly rates exceeding $1,000, with prices soaring to $2,000 per night during the holiday season.

Nightly rates with Marriott Bonvoy points start at 82,000 points per night in the off-peak season, like September and October, with award nights costing up to 132,000 points per night throughout the winter and around peak holiday dates.

You can book The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, rooms for as few as 82,000 points per night. Image Credit: Marriott

We were assigned a Junior Suite with Club Lounge access, and the cash rate for my upgraded room type was $1,665 per night during my stay.

It should be clear by now that the resort is an excellent value for points. If you have the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, you can use the 85,000-point annual free night certificate that comes with the card to get a free night at this resort.

Rewards Center

Marriott Bonvoy

If you require more than 85,000 points to receive a free night’s stay, you can top off your account with up to 15,000 points and book your free night’s stay if the price rises up to 100,000 per night.

Resort Fee

There isn’t a fixed resort fee here, but the taxes and fees the resort charges cover the services it offers. For each night, guests pay a 12% tax on hotels and tourism services, a 10% service charge, and a 5% facility charge.

If a room rate is $600 a night, for example, you’d pay $160 in taxes and fees for 1 night. Even if you paid for your stay with points, you’d still be charged based on the standard room rate for your room type each night.

I’m puzzled as to why the hotel wouldn’t just charge a straightforward resort fee that simplifies things, but that’s how it goes.

Hot Tip:

There are multiple ways to earn Marriott Bonvoy points, including staying at Marriott hotels or using a Marriott Bonvoy-branded credit card. You can also transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, or Bilt Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio.

Location of The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos

The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, is directly on Grace Bay, a stunning beach that’s among the best beaches in the Caribbean.

Ritz CarltonTurks Grace Bay Beach
The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, is directly in front of one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world.

The hotel’s 147 guest rooms and 23 suites have amazing ocean views, making it an ideal destination for a high-end vacation with direct access to pristine beaches.

The resort faces Grace Bay Beach.

The resort is 9 miles from Providenciales International Airport (PLS), and the drive usually lasts 15 to 20 minutes.

Because taxi fares on the island can be quite steep, guests often rent a car and venture out to discover exciting spots beyond the resort.

Checking In

Ritz Turks Front
The front exterior of the resort conceals a stunning view on the other side.

My wife and I were picked up from the airport and arrived at the resort in just 15 minutes shortly after midday.

As we were dropped off at the front of the resort, the first thing I noticed was the lovely open-air lobby and the stunning view of Grace Bay in the distance.

An open-aired lobby greets you.

We approached one of the check-in desks, and an associate warmly welcomed us to the resort and collected all our information.

Ritz Turks Lobby Front Desk
There are multiple check-in desks where guests are greeted by a friendly associate.

She informed us that our room was ready, even though check-in wasn’t until 4 p.m.

Going straight to the beach would have been fun, but we went directly to our room because we had already visited the resort before (for a meal on-site on a different trip) and were excited to check out our suite.

We received our room key cards and eagerly hopped on the elevator to our fifth-floor room to soak in the views of Grace Bay from the room’s balcony.

Club Junior Suite

Once we got off the elevator, we walked down the long corridor to the very end, where our room, 3520, was waiting for us.

Ritz Turks Hallway
The hallways are devoid of artwork, yet the scent of fresh paint lingers in the air as if it’s a brand-new hotel.

Living Room

The 700-square-foot Junior Suite featured a welcoming entryway that led into a cozy living room area, equipped with a TV and a comfy sectional sofa.

The Junior Suite has a separate living room upon entering.

I was immediately drawn to the amenities waiting for us on top of the oval coffee table: a bottle of Champagne in an ice bucket, cheese and crackers, marmalades, and a bottle of Acqua Panna.

An unexpected, but very kind gesture.

As we walked past the separate bedroom, we could see the shimmering turquoise waters of Grace Bay from deep within the room.

From the moment you enter, the turquoise waters are visible.

To the right was the room’s closet, fully equipped with hangers, a robe, a safe, slippers, and an iron and ironing board.

The closet featured a robe, iron, ironing board, and a safe.

Bedroom

The great thing about the rooms at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, is that no matter which type you choose to book, they’re big. The smallest ones are 460 square feet, which is plenty of space for a comfortable hotel stay.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite Angle
I would have been happy with a standard room here, given how spacious the rooms are.

Just past the closet was a long dresser with a Nespresso machine, coffee mugs, pods, and cream right on top.

In-room Nespresso coffee is always welcomed.

Wine glasses and complimentary Ritz-Carlton-branded water bottles were beside the coffee machine.

Boxes of water and wine glasses sit on top of the dresser.

Hidden in one of the cabinets inside the dresser was an empty minifridge.

While no minibar, rooms do have a minifridge for keeping refreshments cool.

In front of the dresser stood a small glass table accompanied by 1 chair.

A cute, round glass table with a chair faced the beach.

The room had a plush, king-size bed, on which we had a restful night’s sleep on both nights.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite King Bed Side
Usually a bad sleeper, I slept well for 2 nights on the king bed.

At the foot of our bed was a daybed with a small table.

A daybed provided seating in the room.

A wall-mounted TV was on the left side of the bed, designed to be pulled out slightly for a comfortable viewing experience from the bed.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite Bedroom TV
We were able to stream Netflix and other apps from our phones to the bedroom TV.

I found roughly a dozen power outlets throughout the room, including in the nightstands on either side of the bed.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite outlets
No shortage of outlets in the room for charging our electronics.

The room’s standout feature was undoubtedly the expansive balcony, which offered breathtaking views of Grace Bay and the beautiful grounds.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite balcony views
This view never gets old.

Out on the balcony were 2 cushioned patio chairs and a table where we savored our coffee every morning.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite balcony deck
We sat here each morning drinking our coffee.

We returned home after dinner one night and discovered that we had received turndown service, which I always appreciate.

Bathroom

We loved the bathroom, which was large and inviting, with double sinks, a soaking tub, a walk-in shower with 3 shower heads, and a separate toilet area.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite Bathroom
You can expect large bathrooms to go along with large rooms.

One of the first things I check out in a hotel room’s bathroom is the water pressure of the shower, and this one did not disappoint.

Ritz Turks Junior Suite Shower
The shower had 3 types of showerhead sprays, with water pressure being strong on all of them.

There were 2 bathrobes, 1 in the bathroom and 1 inside the closet.

There were 2 bathrobes in the room: 1 in the closet and 1 hanging in the bathroom.

Bathroom toiletries were supplied by Diptyque and came in reusable bottles.

Bottled shower toiletries by Diptyque smelled heavenly.

Amenities

The property featured spacious grounds, and while the hotel was on the smaller side, it still offered all the amenities you’d expect from a 5-star resort.

Beach

Grace Bay is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and the resort’s fantastic location right in front of the strand is a big draw with guests.

Ritz Turks Beach Chair and Umbrellas

While I usually lean toward the lesser-known beaches on the island, I have to say that Grace Bay is genuinely one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Ritz Turks Grace Bay Beach Water
If you’ve never been to Grace Bay, you’re in for a treat.

The soft, cool, white sand stretched for miles, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the turquoise waters were truly a sight to behold, rivaling any beach in the Caribbean.

The beach was directly accessible from the resort’s pool deck by a walking path.

Complimentary amenities for resort guests at the beach included lounge chairs, paddleboards, kayaks, and snorkel gear.

Ritz Turks Non Motorized Activities
Resort guests can enjoy nonmotorized activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding.

Pools

The hotel featured 3 swimming pools: 1 pool perfect for families with kids, another tailored just for adults, and a third exclusively for The Residences (off-limits to resort guests).

Ritz Turks Adult Pool
The resort has 3 pools, with the adults-only pool being the most visually appealing of the 3.

The adults-only pool offered private cabanas for rent starting at $150 per day.

Ritz Turks Adult Pool Cabanas
I thought the prices to rent a pool cabana were incredibly reasonable, given the caliber of the resort.

This ensured shade and personalized poolside service. The cabanas came with a fruit platter, water bottles, and a bottle of chilled prosecco.

Ritz Turks Adult Only Pool
Adults-only pool at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos.

One morning, we went downstairs to check out both pools at 10 a.m., a little later than we usually start our day. Securing a pool lounger couldn’t have been simpler. At this resort, unlike some others we’ve visited, no one was scrambling for a lounger at the crack of dawn.

Ritz Turks family pool
Nothing better than sleeping in and not needing to rush to the pool to get a lounger.

It was nice to know that we didn’t have to worry about finding a place to sit by the pool after breakfast.

Casino

The casino offered a wide array of games, including 14 traditional table games and over 70 slot machines. It also frequently held giveaways, typically awarding prizes to visitors multiple times each night.

Ritz Turks Casino
If you enjoy slots and card games, you’ll appreciate the on-site resort casino.

I’m not much of a gambler (and neither is my wife), but we stopped by the casino because resort guests with Marriot Bonvoy elite status receive a casino credit to use on the slots.

Ritz Turks Casino Credit
Marriott Bonvoy elite members get a slot credit to use at the casino. The amount depends on your status.

Because I had Marriott Gold Elite status, I took advantage of the $20 I was given and tried my luck at the slot machines. After roughly 20 minutes of losing my $20, we headed off.

All casino guests must be at least 21 years old (the legal age for gambling in the Turks and Caicos). The casino operates Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Saturday to Sunday from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Club Lounge

The resort’s Club Lounge, on the ninth floor, was open daily.

Ritz Turks club lounge
There were no signs for the club lounge on the ninth floor, which was really strange to me.

Oddly, there was no signage directing you to the lounge after you exited the elevator, so you had to make 2 rights and continue to the end.

Ritz Turks club lounge inside
Once found, the club lounge was a lovely space to enjoy a drink or snack throughout the day.

The lounge offered a daily rotating menu, including breakfast, hearty snacks, and complimentary drinks and cocktails.

Ritz Turks club lounge food
Guests with access can also enjoy an array of hot and cold breakfast foods, such as scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, and baked goods.

As with all Ritz-Carlton Club Lounges, a specialized concierge was on hand to assist with dining and spa reservations, island excursions, and resort activities.

Ritz Turks Amenities Beach
Club Lounge guests can ask the on-site concierge for help booking excursions or activities.

If you want access to the club lounge, book a room type with it included or upgrade at check-in. The price for adding club lounge access to your stay varies from $350 in the low season to $600 in the peak season. It’s a steep price to pay, but if comfort and ease are important to you, it might make sense.

Spa

The Spa at The Ritz-Carlton had 6 luxurious treatment rooms in an elegant setting.

Ritz Turks The Spa
The spa was small but offered all the services you might expect from a luxury resort’s spa.

All the classic treatments were here, such as massages, manicures, pedicures, and facials. Prices for treatments were the higher side, with a 50-minute massage priced at $170 and a manicure starting at $50.

Ritz Turks Spa Sauna Jacuzzi Steam Room
On each side (men’s and women’s) were a sauna, steam room and whirlpool bath that all resort guests can use, not just paying spa customers.

The spa menu includes a nice selection of treatments that may be booked ahead of time or on the day of.

Fitness Center

The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, had a full gym that was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was on the ground level, near the elevators and the lobby.

Ritz Turks Cardio Equipment
The fitness center at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos.

The gym was fully equipped, featuring both cardio and weight machines.

Whenever I find myself at a beachfront resort, I tend to choose the beach for my morning walk over a treadmill inside a hotel gym. However, if you require a proper fitness center for your daily workout, you’d have it here.

Catamaran

One of the best parts of my stay was sailing on the resort’s exclusive Lady Grace catamaran, which set off right from the shoreline in front of the hotel. We booked a half-day snorkeling adventure with a picnic for 4 hours, and it was an absolute blast!

Ritz Turks Lady Grace Catamaran
Undoubtedly, the catamaran snorkeling excursion was a highlight of our stay.

Prices started at $159 per person, which I found to be fair for the experience. The other guests seemed to agree, as Lady Grace excursions were a hit not just with resort guests but also with visitors from nearby hotels.

Each excursion included food and beverages provided by the resort’s culinary staff. The catamaran sunset cruises featured an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, including fresh sushi, for $129 per person.

Ritz Kids Club

This resort, like many Ritz-Carltons throughout the world, featured Ritz Kids, a kids club geared to children 4 to 12, with thoughtfully organized activities and enjoyment. Ritz Kids was free to use and is conveniently right next to the family pool, making it ideal for families who wished to be close together.

Ritz Turks Ritz Kids Exterior
All kids from 4 to 12 are welcome at the Ritz Kids club.

We went to the Ritz Kids club on a Saturday afternoon to check it out, and there were no children. However, we were visiting in late September, and most of the resort guests were adults and couples. During U.S. holidays, you can expect a large number of families to make use of the kids club.

Ritz Turks Ritz Kids Interior
There were plenty of activities to keep the kiddos busy and entertained.

Ritz Kids was open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Shopping

The resort featured 3 retail outlets, including a boutique, a jewelry store, and a shop that sold Ritz-Carlton-branded apparel.

Ritz Turks Boutique
The resort features 3 stores, including this cute boutique shop with local merchandise.

Parking

Guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, get complimentary parking. As I mentioned before, travelers visiting Providenciales often rent a car, making it easier and more enjoyable to explore the island. (Also, taxis can really put a dent in your wallet.)

It’s a great perk to know that you can rent a car and park for free as a resort guest when visiting the island of Providenciales.

Wi-Fi

I tested the Wi-Fi speed, and though it wasn’t the strongest, the 15.5 Mbps download speed was just right for streaming Netflix on my device, using AirPlay to the room’s TV, and browsing the internet.

Wi Fi Speed Ritz Turks
Wi-Fi speeds were perfectly adequate.

Even at the beach and by the pool, the connection was sufficient.

Food and Beverage

If weren’t visiting one of the island’s many great eateries serving freshly caught seafood, the resort had a few places to eat, all of which were excellent.

Coralli

Coralli, the resort’s beachside restaurant, served breakfast and lunch with local ingredients and Mediterranean flavors.

Ritz Turks Coralli Restaurant Sign
Coralli is where most resort guests enjoy breakfast each morning.

Coralli was the resort’s primary breakfast restaurant, with the majority of guests having breakfast there each morning.

Ritz Turks Coralli interior
I loved the decor inside, with faux green vegetation and modern bird’s nest chandeliers.

You could choose between the breakfast buffet, which costs $39 per person and includes made-to-order omelets as well as an assortment of hot and cold meals, or the à la carte menu.

Ritz Turks Coralli Breakfast
Breakfast foods were plentiful at the buffet.

You can see the breakfast menu here.

During the day, Coralli was a bustling beachside restaurant.

Ritz Turks Coralli Exterior
Coralli sits directly in front of the beach.

Soon after arriving at the resort, we were hungry and wanted to grab a quick bite, so we went to Coralli. We got conch fritters and conch salad, and they were both very good.

Ritz Turks Coralli Lunch
If you’re lying by the pool or at the beach, the food ordered from your lounger will come from Coralli.

At night, Coralli transformed into Casa Nonna, Midtown Manhattan’s traditional Roman- and Tuscan-inspired restaurant, but more on that below. By day, however, the views here were truly some of the best.

Ritz Turks Coralli Inside exterior view
You don’t go to Coralli just for the food. The views, especially if sitting outside, are breathtaking.

Coralli was open for breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Casa Nonna

Although we were excited to venture off the property for delicious coconut conch fritters and fresh seafood, my wife and I were pretty worn out after spending the whole day on the catamaran and soaking up the sun.

So, even with our cravings, we relaxed at the resort and enjoyed a meal at Casa Nonna.

Ritz Turks Casa Nonna Sign Evening
Casa Nonna is the resort’s Italian restaurant, originally hailing from New York City.

Casa Nonna was open just for dinner, so it shared the space with Coralli. In the evening, it turned into a cozy Italian restaurant, complete with a sign swap from “Coralli” to “Casa Nonna.”

Ritz Turks Casa Nonna Evening Light
Casa Nonna is only open for dinner.

Even though we longed for authentic Turks and Caicos flavors, we really enjoyed our meals from Casa Nonna’s menu. My wife got a Caesar salad with shrimp, and the shrimp were huge and savory.

Ritz Turks Grilled Shrimp Caesar Salad
My wife loved the shrimp Caesar salad.

I had a more classic Italian-American dish, the chicken parmigiana. Both were great!

Ritz Turks Chicken Parmigana
My chicken parmigiana was nicely done.

But the highlight was soaking in live music and a stunning sunset from our outdoor deck table while enjoying our dinner.

Casa Nonna was open exclusively for dinner daily from 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., except on Wednesday, when it’s closed.

Noori

We loved our meal at the outdoor lobby lounge, Noori. This casual outdoor lounge served local dishes like conch fritters and fish tacos, but we were all about the tasty sushi rolls on the menu.

Ritz Turks Noori lobby lounge restaurant
Noori is the resort’s casual open-air lobby lounge, serving sushi, light bites, and cocktails.

In fact, my wife and I enjoyed the Blue Mountain roll at Noori so much (ingredients include Scotch bonnet aioli, king crab, shrimp tempura, avocado, mango, and eel sauce) that we had sushi for dinner 1 night and returned for lunch the next day before leaving for the airport.

Ritz Turks Couple Noori
The sushi here is some of the freshest I’ve ever had — so much so that we repeated dining here the next day (something I rarely do)!

In addition, Noori’s manager, Mert, provided excellent service. He was continually attentive to guests’ needs, going around talking to each one while also assisting the bartender and servers with orders.

Noori was open for lunch, dinner, and refreshments every day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

BLT Steak

BLT Steak is a modern steakhouse with excellent steaks and fresh seafood.

Ritz Turks BLT Steak Exterior
I eat mostly seafood in Turks and Caicos, but if you’re craving a steak, BLT Steak is a high-quality steakhouse.

The restaurant was next to the resort’s casino and exclusively served dinner.

BLT Steak was open every day, except Thursday, from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Ritual Coffee Shop

Ritual is the resort’s newest addition, having opened only a few months before our visit.

Ritz Turks ritual coffee shop
The newly opened Ritual’s made-to-order coffee and sandwiches, croissants, and overnight oats are pleasant additions to the resort’s food choices.

This cozy and modern coffee shop is on the resort’s front side and serves coffee classics such as lattes and cappuccinos, as well as wine and beer.

Ritz Turks coffee shop inside
In terms of good coffee, Ritual is your best bet for a good cup of joe on resort grounds.

If you prefer a light breakfast or are merely on the go, Ritual offers sandwiches, muffins, and other tasty baked goods that you can enjoy without having to visit Coralli for a full meal.

We enjoyed the coffee here, and it was wonderful to have a casual coffee shop on-site.

You can buy coffee and other snacks at Ritual daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Service

From top to bottom, there were constantly happy faces peering back at me, whether it was at the restaurants, the front desk, the lobby, or on the resort’s catamaran. The waiters at Coralli and Casa Nonna would check in on us from time to time and did a good job of remaining attentive but not obtrusive.

I want to highlight 1 individual who truly shined in providing outstanding service: Mert, the manager at Noori. His cheerful attitude with customers was infectious and exuded great vibes, and I saw him engaging with tables multiple times, with guests bursting into laughter at something Mert said.

Overall, the service was fantastic throughout our stay.

Final Thoughts

I went into my stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, with low expectations, but the resort totally blew me away. After almost 10 visits to the island, The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos, was the first hotel I stayed at in Providenciales, and I can honestly say I would return in a heartbeat.

From the incredible location on Grace Bay to the excellent dining, comfortable rooms, and outstanding service, it’s a place I can’t wait to go back to!
