How To Earn the Bonus Points

To qualify for the bonus points, you need to stay at an eligible property with a checkout date within the period listed in the chart. Registration isn’t required.

Both paid and award stays count, though group rates don’t qualify. And while the terms say it may take 3 to 4 weeks to receive your bonus points, it’s typically much quicker. On a recent stay, the bonus points posted to my account with the stay credit, earning 1,000 points from a 2-night stay.

Notice that I spent $0 at the hotel. Even with a redemption stay, I qualified for the 500 bonus points each night by staying at an eligible property during the available dates.

Bottom Line:

You’ll earn points if you check out during the listed dates, whether it’s a paid or award stay.

Final Thoughts

If you stay at a new Hyatt hotel during certain dates, you can get 500 bonus points per night. We value Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each, meaning you’ll earn about $7.50 worth of points per night. That’s not worth going out of your way for, but it’s a nice bonus for staying at an eligible hotel.
