American Airlines has rolled out a new package called AAdvantage Pass, offering members automatic elite status, 6 digits worth of bonus miles, and bonus Loyalty Points to help them reach the next elite status tier.

For the price of $5,000, AAdvantage members can purchase the package for themselves or others, and it includes the following:

Instant AAdvantage elite status: Members receive AA Gold status, offering perks like extra checked baggage allowance, moving up in the boarding priority for flights, and preferred seats. This status lastd for 1 year.
Bonus AA miles: Receive 100,000 miles in your AAdvantage account to redeem however you’d like.
Bonus Loyalty Points: These are the status-qualifying points you need to reach higher status tiers, and you get 15,000 of them.

Is AAdvantage Pass Worth It?

Everyone’s situation will vary, but let’s crunch some numbers to see what these items are worth — and whether they add up to $5,000 to justify the cost of AAdvantage Pass.
