Marriott’s AC brand already has a large global presence with over 225 hotels in 31 countries.

AC has continued its expansion with the opening of its first property in the European island nation of Malta. The opening of this brand-new AC hotel marks the third property for Marriott International in the southern European country.

“We are delighted to be bringing AC Hotels’ design-driven guest experience to Malta. The hotel marks Marriott Bonvoy’s third property in this vibrant Mediterranean island destination,” said Matthew Boettcher, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, Distinctive Select Brands.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about this brand-new property.

Malta’s First AC Hotel

The newly opened AC Hotel by Marriott St. Julian’s is conveniently located just about 7 miles from Malta International Airport (MLA) in the town of St. Julian’s. It’s situated adjacent to St. George’s Bay and is near the shops and entertainment found along Bay Street.

In addition, it’s just a 15-minute ride from the property to the Maltese capital, Valletta, and all of the restaurants, bars, and beaches it has to offer.

This new hotel features 106 guest rooms equipped with in-room Nespresso machines and full-sized work desks — perfect for catching up on some emails before exploring all the sights Malta has to offer.

Guests will find the AC Lounge on the rooftop terrace, where they can enjoy light bites and cocktails with stunning views all around. The property has a number of other amenities, including a rooftop pool, an indoor pool, a full gym with Matrix equipment, meeting space, and more.

How To Book

The AC Hotel by Marriott St. Julian’s participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means members can earn and redeem points for stays.

AC is one of Marriott’s more moderately priced brands, and room rates are quite inexpensive at this property.

In June 2023, rooms can be booked starting at around $140 per night, or from just 22,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

Marriott loyalists will be happy to know there’s another option for earning and redeeming points in sunny Malta. The nation is quickly becoming a popular travel destination (and the primary spoken language is English!), so it’s nice to know that there’s another reasonably priced hotel that could serve as your home base on your next trip to the country!
