JW Marriott has opened its first property in Spain with a new hotel near the Puerta del Sol in the heart of Madrid.

Let’s take a look at the new hotel and how you can book a stay!

The JW Marriott Hotel Madrid has 139 guest rooms and suites, most boasting private balconies. Most suites on the top floors also have large terraces with city views.

The hotel has partnered with Michelin-star chef Mario Sandoval for the Qú restaurant, which will serve traditional Spanish food. Amenities include a 24-hour gym and a spa.

Marriott’s opening of a JW Marriott in Madrid aligned with its ethos of luxury travel, mindfulness, and well-being, the chain said.

“JW Marriott Hotel Madrid is an ideal reflection of who we are and what we represent, from its thoughtful design to the bespoke programming crafted with guests’ holistic wellness in mind,” said Bruce Rohr, Global Brand Leader at JW Marriott.

While this marks JW Marriott’s first hotel in Spain, Marriott has a sizable presence in Madrid and throughout Spain. Marriott has a whopping 2 dozen hotels in and around the Spain capital, including the Madrid EDITION and The Westin Palace, Madrid.

How to Book

Such luxury will come at a price, whether using cash or Marriott Bonvoy points. Rates for spring and summer dates start at $475 or 53,000 Bonvoy points per night.

While that may seem like a lot, Marriott Bonvoy points are among the easiest of all hotel chains to earn. Marriott has several co-branded credit cards that you can use to redeem Marriott Bonvoy points, all of which offer sizable welcome bonuses. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned from several Chase credit cards and Amex Membership Rewards points earned from Amex credit cards at a 1:1 ratio.

Hot Tip: Through May 15, 2023, you’ll receive a 50% transfer bonus when transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy!

Additionally, the hotel is running a fantastic promotion where you’ll earn 5,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points per stay. This promo runs through May 31, 2023.

Final Thoughts

Madrid is one of Europe’s most popular travel destinations, so it’s not surprising that Marriott would debut Spain’s first JW Marriott property there. While you’ll pay a sizable chunk in Marriott Bonvoy points, you’ll at least earn 5,000 points on your stay through the end of May, which is a pretty solid deal!
