Accor has announced that some of its most premium brands would be included in its brand-new all-inclusive collection.
Let’s get right into the news!
Accor Announces All-Inclusive Collection
Accor entered an agreement in 2016 with Rixos, a hospitality brand. Rixos is a major player in Turkey, the Middle East, and Central Asia, with 24 hotels and over 10,000 rooms in operation and 26 hotels with over 14,000 rooms in the pipeline.
Now, Accor says it’s “significantly expanding” its all-inclusive portfolio by including its luxury and premium brands — which include brands such as Fairmont, Sofitel, and Pullman — in the collection.
Several properties worldwide are expected to open this year, including:
Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha (Qatar)
Rixos Qetaifan Doha (Qatar)
Swissôtel Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt)
The Rixos Qetaifan Doha will include one of the world’s largest water parks, while the Swissôtel Sharm el Sheikh will feature more than 1,300 rooms, a water park, and dining facilities.
Accor said its all-inclusive options would feature day and evening activities, multiple sporting activities at each resort, spa and wellness facilities, and dining options.
None of the new hotels are listed on Accor’s site just yet, so we don’t know, at least right now, how much rates will cost.
Accor To Expand Rixos’ Footprint
“The post-Covid travel market is witnessing a renewed desire for leisure stays,” Gaurav Bhushan, CEO of Accor Lifestyle & Entertainment, said in a statement.
“Accor’s strategic decision to double down on the all-inclusive segment, the fastest growing sector in this market and build upon its success with Rixos, capitalizes on this opportunity.”
International expansion of the all-inclusive business will be centered in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbean — but not North America. These locations were selected for their “promising growth potential” in the all-inclusive market and brand strength in those regions.
Accor said it would initially focus on further expanding Rixos’ footprint and plans to have over 100 all-inclusive resorts in the next 5 years.
As one of the world’s largest hospitality brands, Accor has more than 5,000 properties and 10,000 food and beverage venues across the globe, though it doesn’t have the largest footprint in the U.S.
This is pretty cool news if you’re a fan of all-inclusive options and stay at Accor hotels regularly.
So far, Accor doesn’t seem like it will expand its all-inclusive offerings to the U.S. market. But the chain has a sizable footprint in Central and South America, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we see more all-inclusive properties in that region coming through the pipeline.
