If you’re in the Washington, D.C. area, listen up, because there’s some exciting news. Low-cost Air Premia has announced plans to launch nonstop flights between Seoul (ICN) and Washington (IAD).

Here’s what you need to know about this new route.

Air Premia Launching Second East Coast Route

Air Premia announced on December 12 that flights between Seoul (ICN) and Washington Dulles (IAD) would begin on April 24, 2026.

Flights will operate 4 times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Here’s what the schedule will look like:

  • Depart Seoul (ICN) at 10:05 a.m. and arrive at Washington Dulles (IAD) at 10:50 a.m.
  • Depart Washington, D.C. (IAD) at 1:20 p.m. and arrive at Seoul Incheon (ICN) at 5:45 p.m.

Flights for the new route will go on sale on December 15, 2025.

The airline will fly its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the route. The 344-seat configuration features 35 premium economy seats and 309 economy seats.

With the launch, Air Premia says it is the first Korean carrier in 3 decades to launch service to Washington, D.C. This will undoubtedly be a beneficial route for business and leisure travelers alike, and the airline said as much.

“Washington, D.C. is a strategic route with consistently strong demand from government, international organizations, and research institutions,” an Air Premia spokesperson said. “As we expand our North American network, we aim to provide even greater travel flexibility and convenience for both leisure and business passengers.”

The route generates interest from business executives and diplomats, as well as students and tourists seeking a seamless connection between the 2 cities. There’s just 1 nonstop flight between Washington and Seoul — a daily Korean Air flight — so a new route will add some much-needed options for travelers.

If you aren’t familiar, Air Premia is a budget airline founded in 2017. It has expanded to the U.S. with a handful of destinations: Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Newark (EWR), andHonolulu (HNL). The airline says it plans to position itself as a “North America-focused hybrid carrier” for the future. That’s because it plans to offer more services and more legroom than typical low-cost carriers.

Hot Tip:

As a budget carrier, Air Premia limits the size and number of bags you’re allowed to bring. Before your flight, make sure to check out the airline’s baggage policy to avoid surprises.

Final Thoughts

Air Premia is launching its second East Coast route, this time to Washington Dulles. This is fantastic news for all travelers in the D.C. area, who will soon have more affordable options to fly to South Korea. This also could drive down prices on the route by adding competition.
