Check your email for an interesting offer on the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® credit card. Targeted members can earn 60,000 bonus miles plus a 50% flight discount, a unique offer that some members may find more valuable than the public offer on this card.

Which offer is better — this or the publicly available offer? Let’s compare them.

Public Welcome Offer on the Alaska Signature Card

Right now, the Alaska Signature card, issued by Bank of America, has the following public welcome offer:

  •  Get 70,000 bonus miles plus a $99 Companion Fare ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $23) after you make $3,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days.

We value this offer at $1,120.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles are some of the most valuable airline miles, and the Companion Fare available for cardholders adds to the value of keeping this card in your wallet year after year — easily offsetting its $95 annual fee.

New, Targeted Offer on the Alaska Signature Card

Alaska Airlines is sending emails to targeted members with a different welcome bonus for the Alaska Signature card: Earn 60,000 bonus miles, a 50% flight discount, and Alaska’s Famous Companion Fare ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $23) after spending $3,000 or more on purchases with your card within 90 days from account opening.

The difference is whether you’re willing to trade some miles for a 50% flight discount in the welcome offer.

For reference, we value Alaska Airlines miles at 1.6 cents apiece, making 10,000 miles (the difference between the offers) worth $160.

Is forgoing $160 of miles worth getting a flight discount instead? That depends, due to a few restrictions. The discount code must be redeemed by September 30, 2025, and it’s only valid for travel between September 6 and November 19, 2025. Additionally, you can only use the discount once, and it’s only valid on flights operated by Alaska Airlines. That said, if you’re booking a paid fare that costs over $320, you could save more than $160 — potentially making this offer more valuable.

Bottom Line:

The value of each offer will depend on how you redeem your miles and how you use the discount code, so consider those as you decide which holds more interest for you.

Check Your Eligibility

You can try to enroll for this offer here. You’ll need to confirm your name and email address. If you aren’t eligible for a targeted offer, you’ll receive an error message after submitting your information.

Final Thoughts

There’s a targeted offer for the Alaska Signature card, so check your emails or the enrollment page to see if you’re eligible. There’s no end date listed for this offer, and eligible customers could receive miles, a companion fare, and a flight discount code after meeting the spending requirements.

Is this offer better than the publicly available offer on this card, which provides more miles and a companion fare but lacks the flight discount code? You’ll need to make that decision for yourself, depending on your travel plans — and assuming you’re eligible for the targeted bonus that includes the flight discount.
