Allegiant Air, the ultra-low-cost carrier based in Las Vegas, launched a single co-branded credit card in 2016. That card, the Allegiant World Mastercard®, has now been rebranded as the Allegiant Allways Rewards Visa® card.

Here are the details about this new card from Allegiant Air.

Details on the New Allways Rewards Visa Card

The Allegiant World card is now the Allways Rewards Visa card. This rebranded card will continue to be issued by Bank of America, carrying the same $59 annual fee. However, the Allways Rewards card will now be a Visa instead of a Mastercard.

All new credit card applications submitted as of September 5, 2023, will be processed as the newly rebranded Visa card.

Allegiant Air hopes this change will help accelerate the growth of the credit card program by tapping into the resources offered by Visa. Most of the card’s benefits will remain the same on the rebranded version:

  • 3 points per dollar spent on Allegiant purchases
  • 2 points per dollar spent on dining purchases
  • 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases
  • Priority boarding
  • A free beverage on each Allegiant flight
  • Buy one, get one free airfare when purchasing an Allegiant vacation package consisting of 4 or more hotel nights or 7+ rental car days on the same itinerary

In addition, rewards programs offered in partnership with Live Nation and Allegiant Stadium will remain the same.

You’ll receive your new card over the next 9 months if you’re an active cardholder. New card shipments will be sent out automatically, and all balance and account information will be transferred to the new card. Finally, cardholders can expect an email with more information a few weeks before receiving the new card.

Bottom Line:

The Allegiant Air co-branded credit card has been changed from the Allegiant World card to the Allways Rewards Visa card. Most of the card’s benefits remain the same, but the card will now be a Visa instead of a Mastercard. Current cardholders will receive their new cards automatically.

Final Thoughts

The Allegiant World card is now the Allways Rewards Visa card. While most of the card’s benefits remain the same, it will now be a Visa card instead of a Mastercard. Moving forward, new applications will be processed as Visa cards, and current cardholders will be transitioned automatically to the new rebranded version.
