American Airlines is introducing a new grab-and-go lounge concept called “Provisions by Admirals Club” in Charlotte (CLT), scheduled to open at the end of summer 2025.

This new lounge concept will be very different from AA’s existing lounges. Here’s what you should know about this upcoming launch.

AA Launching New Lounge Concept Called ‘Provisions by Admirals Club’

This new grab-and-go lounge will be in addition to the current Admirals Club lounges throughout the airport and will be specifically designed for passengers who don’t have a lot of time before or between their flights. The first Provisions by Admirals Club location will be at American’s massive Charlotte (CLT) hub, announced by the airline today, July 15.

A traditional Admirals Club is a larger space with more services, food, and seating, but the space isn’t exactly designed for customers who are in a rush. That’s because it takes time to find a seat, walk to the buffet, grab food and return — a cumbersome process if you’re limited on time.

The Provisions concept will follow a similar grab-and-go offering that United Airlines has introduced in select airports.

The American Airlines version will be located by Gate A1, and will offer packaged sandwiches, salads, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. The airline will also be providing vegetarian options.

How To Access the Provisions by Admirals Club

You’ll check in with an agent as you enter, as you normally would in an airline club. From here, you’ll be directed to the lounge space, which offers limited seating and focuses on a to-go style atmosphere for the food and beverage. There will also be agents on hand to offer assistance with reservations, which is one of the most prized amenities of any airline lounge — especially in the case of flight delays and cancellations.

One of the great things about this lounge concept is that you can take food and beverages with you to enjoy on your next flight. I often find myself scurrying between flights because of delays, with not even enough time to grab a burger. With this lounge, I can hurry in, grab a packaged sandwich and soda, and be on my way to my next gate within seconds.

For customers boarding long flights with limited onboard dining options, this to-go concept can provide some much needed refreshment for an onward journey.

To enter the new Provisions lounge concept, you’ll need to be an Admirals Club member, hold a Citi®/AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard®, be on an eligible first- or business-class international itinerary, or be a Oneworld elite traveling on select itineraries.

Hot Tip:

You can enter both the Provisions lounge and Admirals Club, so you don’t need to choose between the 2 if you have enough time to access both.

Final Thoughts

This new concept will be great for travelers who don’t have enough time to stop in a traditional lounge. With to-go style food and drink, the Provisions by Admirals Club the perfect spot to grab refreshments and be on your way quickly and efficiently to your next flight.
