Update: The offers mentioned below have expired and are no longer available.

There’s a new welcome offer available for the popular Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express.

While you may have to put a little more thought into earning the maximum bonus, you’ll net out more in the end if you’re able to complete the requirements.

Let’s take a look at the details of this new offer!

The Amex Blue Cash Everyday Card’s New Welcome Offer

Right now, you can earn a $250 welcome offer after signing up — and meeting the spend requirements — for the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card.

New cardmembers can earn 20% back as a statement credit on purchases when they use the card to shop with PayPal merchants in the first 6 months of card membership (up to $150 back). In addition, you can earn $100 back as a statement credit after spending $2,000 on your card, also within the first 6 months.

The total — when you combine the 20% statement credits from PayPal merchants and the $100 statement credit after spending $2,000 — adds up to $250 back.

Comparing this new offer with the old offer — which awarded a $200 statement credit after spending $2,000 in purchases within the first 6 months — the current offer requires a bit more strategy to obtain.

So, yes, you’ll have to put a little more effort forward to earn the complete welcome bonus, but you’ll also earn 25% more in cash-back than the previous offer — not a bad deal at all!

About the Amex Blue Cash Everyday Card

The Amex Blue Cash Everyday card is a cash-back card that doesn’t carry an annual fee (rates & fees).

Here’s a brief look at the earning potential of the card as well as the perks it offers cardmembers:

  • Earn 3% back on purchases at U.S. supermarkets on up to $6,000 in purchases each year, then 1% back after
  • Earn 3% back on purchases at U.S. gas stations on up to $6,000 in purchases each year, then 1% back after
  • Earn 3% back on purchases on online retail purchases on up to $6,000 in purchases each year, then 1% back after
  • Receive a monthly credit toward The Disney Bundle
  • Receive a monthly credit toward Home Chef
  • Secondary car rental coverage
  • Purchase protection

With 3 great bonus-earning categories, it’s easy to earn plenty of cash-back with this card. However, keep in mind that you can only earn cash-back with this card. This means you can’t redeem your rewards for travel or other purchases like you would be able to with cards that earn American Express Membership Rewards points, such as the American Express® Gold Card.

Final Thoughts

Amex just improved the welcome offer on one of its most popular cash-back cards. You’ll have to work just a bit harder to earn the maximum offer, but it’s well worth it in our eyes.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a no-fee American Express cash-back card to your wallet, now may be the time to pull the trigger on the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card!
