One of the best perks of having an American Express card is having access to Amex Offers. If you have multiple Amex cards, you can maximize your chances of discovering (and enrolling in) some of the best offers, helping you save on travel, dining, and much more.

Among the Amex cards in my wallet, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express is the only business card I have — and it continues to impress me with the quality of its Amex Offers. I’ve found over $500 in value this year thanks to several business-focused offers.

Here’s a look at some of the Amex Offers I’ve taken advantage of with the Amex Business Platinum card in 2024.

1. Saving Big on Shipping

Moving across the country is expensive, and it’s even more costly when you’re a business owner (like me) with equipment to transport.

Just weeks before uprooting my life from the East Coast to Utah, I discovered a FedEx Amex Offer, which couldn’t have come at a better time. By enrolling my Amex Business Platinum card, I scored an impressive 55% back on purchases, up to a maximum of $1,000, in the form of a statement credit. (This Amex Offer expired on December 31, 2024.)

What’s great is that I received the savings by completing multiple transactions (up to that $1,000 limit), so I sent several large boxes via FedEx Ground in September.

What would have cost me over $700 to ship these boxes cost me well under $400 thanks to this Amex Offer, and it took just a few business days to receive the statement credit.

Hot Tip:

The Amex Business Platinum card also earns 1.5x points on eligible purchases at U.S. construction material, hardware suppliers, electronic goods retailers, software and cloud system providers, and shipping providers, as well as on purchases of $5,000 or more, on up to $2 million per calendar year. On top of saving $300 with this Amex Offer, I earned over 1,000 Membership Rewards points from these transactions.

2. Earning Bonus Points on Spending

Amex Offers aren’t just about saving money. Sometimes, you’re targeted for an opportunity to earn bonus Membership Rewards points on your spending.

By enrolling my Amex Business Platinum card, I earned an additional 4,500 bonus points after spending $17,000 in one (or more) qualifying purchases. What’s great is that you could also earn these bonus points up to 3 times — so I could earn a maximum of 13,500 points. This Amex Offer expired on December 29, 2024.

However, the major caveat is that there were only 90 days to spend that hefty sum upon enrolling in the Amex Offer. While $17,000 sounds like a lot to spend, it may be nothing out of the ordinary depending on the type of business you run.

To meet the minimum spending requirements, I upgraded my technology and paid for annual subscriptions to accounting software like Xero or creative design platforms like Canva to help me work more efficiently. I also paid my quarterly tax payments ahead of the January 15 deadline.

I earned 21,500 Membership Rewards points by spending $17,000 on qualifying purchases. I loved how this Amex Offer helped me earn a healthy sum of points without having to apply for a brand-new card, which I wasn’t in the market for.

Hot Tip:

We value Amex Membership Rewards points at 2.2 cents apiece, so these points are worth about $473 for future travel redemptions!

3. Scoring Deals at Dell

Another incredible Amex Offer came across my Amex Business Platinum card: I was targeted to receive 10% back on purchases made at Dell.com/smallbusiness, with a maximum savings potential of $1,000. This Amex Offer expired in December 2024.

I stacked this Amex Offer with one of the best benefits of the Amex Business Platinum card: statement credits with Dell. Once you enroll in this benefit, you get up to $150 in annual statement credits and an additional $1,000 statement credit when you spend $5,000 or more on U.S. Dell purchases.

The value of these credits doesn’t roll over, and I had yet to use my credit in 2024. Therefore, I shopped for a 14-inch portable monitor for $289.99 on Dell’s website:

  • I earned 4% cash-back (or 4x Membership Rewards points) by shopping via Rakuten.
  • I saved $150 from my semiannual Dell credit.
  • I saved an additional $28 from this Dell Amex Offer.

I’m happy with the ability to have 2 screens when I’m traveling and working at the same time, so this was an investment well worth it to me — all “discounts” aside.
