Hilton Honors is emailing some members with an offer to reach Diamond status more quickly through a shortcut promotion.

It appears to be a targeted offer for those who hold the Platinum Card® from American Express, but it could be available to a wider range of members, so keep an eye on your email inbox.

Here’s a look at all the details and whether it’s worth taking advantage of if you’re targeted.

Shortcut to Hilton Diamond Status for Amex Platinum Cardholders

Users on Reddit are reporting emails from Hilton with an offer for a shortcut to Hilton Honors Diamond status. However, this appears to be a targeted offer, specifically available to those with the Amex Platinum card.

If you’re targeted, register for the promotion (this requires a code contained in the email you receive), and your account will be upgraded to Diamond status for the next 90 days. Then, if you book and stay 10 nights within the 90-day trial period, your Diamond status will be extended through March 31, 2028.

Earning Hilton Diamond status typically requires staying 50 nights annually, so this is a significant reduction in the threshold.

Hot Tip:

This offer is targeted for Amex Platinum cardmembers. If you don’t already have an Amex Platinum card, learn how you can score a welcome bonus offer as high as 175,000 points!

Is It Worth It?

This is a targeted offer, so not everyone will be able to access it. However, for an Amex Platinum cardmember who doesn’t already have Diamond status, this is a tempting offer, especially if you have upcoming travel that requires hotel stays.

Hilton Diamond status is the chain’s second-highest elite tier and offers members a long list of benefits, including the following (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Complimentary continental breakfast or a daily food and beverage credit
  • Executive lounge access (where applicable)
  • Room upgrades (when available)
  • 100% points bonus on stays
  • Late checkout (when available)

As usual, we don’t recommend going out of your way to fulfill the requirements of this status shortcut if you don’t already have plans that would get you to the 10 required nights — or if you want stay with Hilton enough over the next year to enjoy the benefits.

This is especially true when you consider that you can get Diamond status by simply opening the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card. The card comes with a $550 annual fee (rates & fees) and offers automatic Diamond status as an included perk, in addition to several other benefits. If Diamond status is a goal, it could be less expensive to carry the Hilton Aspire card than to pay for the 10 nights required in this promotion.

Final Thoughts

There’s a new offer for a shortcut to Hilton Honors Diamond status. You have to be targeted to participate, so first check your email inbox to see if you’ve received communication from Hilton. If you are targeted, you could achieve Diamond status after completing just 20% of the typical stay requirement.

Before you commit to it, though, run the numbers to ensure it wouldn’t be less expensive (and much easier) to simply sign up for the Hilton Aspire card.
