A new promotion from All Nippon Airways (ANA) offers flyers up to a 50% discount on economy award bookings for flights through September 2026.

Sadly, the only U.S. destination included in this promotion is Honolulu, and the offer only applies to bookings in economy. Still, this could be a great time to save miles on flights in and out of Tokyo.

Read on for the details of this ANA promotion.

  • Honolulu
  • Kuala Lumpur
  • Manilia

There’s no promo code required for this offer, and you’ll have the option to apply the discount at checkout if you’re booking an eligible trip.

The valid travel dates for this promotion are route-specific, so you’ll want to double-check that before transferring any points. You can access this offer on ANA’s website here.

To be eligible for this promotion, you need to book by February 28, 2026. The local time in the country where you’re reserving your flights is what counts for the deadline.

Key Terms

Here are additional terms to be aware of:

  • Discount is valid on applicable ANA-marketed and operated flights.
  • Only economy flights are eligible for the discount.
  • Eligible travel dates, pricing, and blackout periods vary by route.
  • Book by February 28, 2026.
  • Tickets must be booked through ANA.
  • Discount is not valid on paid tickets.
  • Taxes and fees still apply.
  • Codeshare and partner-operated flights are not eligible.
  • Full terms and conditions are available here.

Is It Worth It?

If you’re planning a trip to Tokyo, you’ll find this discount particularly useful if you’re flying from one of the eligible airports and during eligible dates.

It’s important to note that the discount only applies to the base fare (award price), not the taxes and fees, which can often make up a large chunk of a flight’s total cost.

Here’s an example. You can find a round-trip ticket between Honolulu and Tokyo for just 17,500 miles, but the taxes and fees still ring up to about $252 for the booking.

The amount of savings you can get will vary depending on the route you choose and the travel period. However, if you are already planning to fly between Tokyo and any of the eligible cities, saving 50% on your redemption is a nice bonus. When considering booking any of these discounted itineraries, it’s important to use a travel credit card that will offer bonus points and miles on airfare when it’s time to pay the taxes and fees.

Final Thoughts

This 50% off award sale is definitely worth considering if you’re planning to travel to Japan and want to use your miles.

As always, calculate the numbers to determine if this sale is a good fit for you. ANA’s award pricing varies by season (tied to demand and popularity of travel dates), but the 50% discount should apply evenly. You’ve got until February 28 to take advantage of the award discount if you’re interested.
