Some exciting news from IHG today: the hotel chain announced that it had broken ground on 2 hotels expected to open next year.

Here’s what you need to know.

New Atwell Suites Properties Will Open in 2024

IHG has broken ground on 2 Atwell Suites properties in Henderson, Nevada, and Fort Worth, Texas, which are expected to open in mid-to-late 2024.

Atwell Suites Henderson will have 90 guest suites, and the hotel will offer a pool and fitness center, an inviting bar with small plates available in the evenings, and a TV lounge.

Not much is known about Atwell Suites Fort Worth North, which will have 96 suites. However, IHG did say that it will be located near Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW).

“The groundbreakings of our newest Atwell Suites hotels are just the latest milestones in an exciting and bright future that will see the brand expand more than tenfold in size in the coming years,” said Karen Gilbride, VP Global, Atwell Suites, at IHG Hotels & Resorts said.

Gilbride went on to say that both markets have become prime destinations for business and leisure travel, “making them ideal fits” for Atwell Suites guests.

If you aren’t familiar, Atwell Suites offers an all-suite concept. The hotel offers guests a complimentary hot breakfast, a marketplace, and coffee on demand.

Atwell Suites is expected to begin construction on hotels in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Las Vegas later this year. Additionally, An Atwell Suites property is expected to open this year in Austin, making it the third U.S. hotel for the brand after Miami and Denver.

Earning IHG One Rewards Points

While we wait for these 2 hotels to open, let’s look at how you can earn IHG One Rewards points for future stays.

Bottom Line:

IHG doesn’t use an award chart; instead, it uses dynamic pricing, which means prices can be higher or lower depending on your stay.

It’s relatively simple to earn IHG One Rewards points. The hotel chain offers 3 IHG credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business — issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Even if you don’t have an eligible credit card, there are several ways to earn IHG One Rewards points. You can purchase IHG One Rewards points, enroll in the IHG One Rewards Dining program, or use IHG Business Rewards to earn points for hosting qualifying events.

Final Thoughts

While we don’t know many details about either property, breaking ground on new hotels is always great news for travelers. While we wait for the hotels to open, take a look at our guide on the best ways to redeem IHG points!
