Binghamton (BGM) in New York State’s “Southern Tier” is the latest airport to be added to rapidly growing low-cost carrier Avelo’s route map.
Avelo’s brand-new routes will connect Binghamton with Fort Myers (RSW) and Orlando (MCO), Florida, this fall.
“Binghamton – say hello to Avelo! We’re excited to add Binghamton as our first New York destination to Avelo’s U.S. network,” said Andrew Levy, CEO and Chair at Avelo Airlines.
Here’s what you need to know about Avelo’s new sizzling winter season routes.
Nonstop From Binghamton to Florida
From November 16, 2022, Binghamton will benefit from nonstop services to the popular Florida destinations of Fort Myers (RSW) and Orlando (MCO).
This latest announcement comes soon after the airline opened its third base at Orlando (MCO).
Avelo is sticking true to its promise to serve smaller, more convenient airports with the announcement of its arrival into Binghamton for the first time.
“Say hello to convenient and cost-friendly hometown airport access to The Sunshine State and say goodbye to long and expensive gas-guzzling drives to those other distant New York airports,” said Levy.
The new flights to the Sunshine State will operate twice per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays with the following schedules:
Binghamton to Fort Myers:
- Depart Binghamton (BGM) 12:30 p.m. — Arrive Fort Myers (RSY) 3:35 p.m.
- Depart Fort Myers (RSY) 9 a.m. — Arrive Binghamton (BGM) 11:45 a.m.
Binghamton to Orlando:
- Depart Binghamton (BGM) 8:55 p.m. — Arrive Orlando (MCO) 11:45 p.m.
- Depart Orlando (MCO) 5:30 p.m. — Arrive Binghamton (BGM) 8:05 p.m.
As it stands, the only airline to serve the small regional airport of Binghamton is Delta, which operates daily scheduled nonstop services to its Detroit (DTW) hub.
Avelo’s new routes to Fort Myers and Orlando from Binghamton will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 143 seats. As an ultra-low-cost airline, the cabins of Avelo’s jets are all configured exclusively with economy seats.
Tickets for the new routes are available to book now at aveloair.com. One-way fares from Binghamton to Florida can be booked from just $79.
Final Thoughts
The small city of Binghamton is about to be connected to Florida with nonstop service thanks to Avelo Airlines.
The 2 new routes to Fort Myers and Orlando should be popular with those looking to escape the harsh New York winters and head to the warmer shores of Florida’s Gulf Coast or explore Florida’s theme parks.
We’re excited to see what’s next on the horizon for Avelo.
