Avelo Airlines, the new low-cost carrier headquartered in Houston, announced that it would begin nonstop service between Burbank (BUR) and Boise (BOI).
Here’s what you need to know about the new route!
Twice Weekly Nonstop Service From Burbank to Boise
The flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays on Boeing 737-800 Next-Generation jets, which seat nearly 200 passengers.
Here’s what the schedule will look like, effective May 27, 2022:
Introductory fares between Burbank and Boise start at just $69 one-way and you must book before June 1, 2022, for travel completed by November 7, 2022, for the discounted price.
This is a pretty solid deal, considering one-way flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and Boise on major carriers like Alaska and United start at over $200 for summer dates. You can book the introductory fares directly at AveloAir.com.
Like many low-cost carriers, Avelo charges for things like a carry-on bag ($40 online, $50 at the airport), picking your seat (from $9), and priority boarding ($15).
Hot Tip: On May 24, 2022, only, use promo code HEATWAVE for $30 off travel between September 7 and November 9, or promo code HOTDEALS for $20 off travel between May 29 and June 30!
Avelo’s Rapid Expansion Across 3 U.S. Bases
Avelo now serves 10 destinations in the Western U.S. from its base at Hollywood Burbank Airport, which include:
Bend / Redmond, OR (RDM)
Boise, ID (BOI)
Denver / Fort Collins, CO (FNL)
Eugene, OR (EUG)
Eureka / Arcata, CA (ACV)
Medford / Rogue Valley, OR (MFR)
Pasco / Tri-Cities, WA (PSC)
Redding, CA (RDD)
Salt Lake City / Ogden, UT (OGD)
Sonoma / Santa Rosa, CA (STS)
“It’s officially time for Avelo to say hello to Boise,” Avelo Airlines CEO Andrew Levy said in a statement. “There is a special bond between LA and Boise as an increasing number of Southern Californians relocate to Southwestern Idaho. With today’s inaugural departure, traveling between these two popular and beautiful destinations is now easier than ever.”
Avelo has been on a bit of an expansion kick in recent months. At the end of April, the airline announced the opening of a new base at Orlando (MCO) and began service between the city and Baltimore (BWI), Charleston (CHS), and Wilmington, NC (ILM).
This is a really cool route, especially considering there are no nonstop flights between Burbank and Boise, and the flights from LAX to Boise are pricey. Avelo is rapidly expanding, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we hear of even more new routes from the airline in the coming months.
