All of these routes will be operated by the carrier’s Boeing 737 aircraft. Avelo also stated that it will station a second aircraft at its relatively new base in Lakeland. This network expansion in the eastern half of the country comes as the airline winds down all of its West Coast operations by the end of this year.

How To Book

These new flights are already on sale, and you can book now at Avelo’s website. Fares are very reasonable, such as this one-way flight between Detroit and Lakeland for just $31.

Avelo doesn’t have a loyalty program or its own credit card. However, you can earn points or miles on your purchases by using a travel credit card to maximize flight purchases. Some of our favorites include the Platinum Card® from American Express, the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. In addition to earning big welcome offers, all 3 cards come with perks like lounge access and travel credits.

Hot Tip:

Avelo is a low-cost carrier, so be prepared to pay for everything from seat selection to checked luggage. Check out our guide on Avelo’s baggage policy so you can be prepared before you fly.

Final Thoughts

Avelo Airlines is adding new routes and resuming existing ones across the eastern half of the U.S. As it continues to exit the West Coast, it’s clearly doubling down on the East Coast and Midwest for its future growth plans. Thanks to its low fares, travelers will have more options for getting between popular destinations at a more affordable price.
